Professor of Sustainability

Woxsen University seeks to appoint a distinguished academic leader as a Professor of Sustainability. This is a pivotal role designed for a visionary scholar who will drive the university's intellectual agenda in sustainability. The successful candidate will be instrumental in pioneering cutting-edge research, delivering transformative education, and forging impactful partnerships with industry and government. 3. Key Responsibilities

The role encompasses three core areas of academic life: Research, Teaching, and Institutional Leadership.

A. Research and Scholarship:

• Conduct and lead high-impact, original research in sustainability, with a focus on areas such as Circular Economy, ESG Integration, Sustainable Finance, Climate Risk Management, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Green Technology, or Sustainable Policy.
• Publish consistently in top-tier, peer-reviewed international journals (e.g., FT50, ABDC A*/A).
• Secure external research funding from national and international agencies, corporations, and foundations to build a robust research program.
• Actively present research at leading international conferences and academic forums.
• Foster a vibrant, interdisciplinary research culture by collaborating with faculty across all of Woxsen's schools.

B. Teaching and Mentorship:

• Develop and deliver innovative and engaging courses on sustainability-related topics at the undergraduate, postgraduate (MBA), and doctoral levels.
• Supervise and mentor Ph.D. candidates and postgraduate dissertation projects, guiding them toward successful completion and high-quality outcomes.
• Design and deliver modules for Executive Education programs, catering to senior and mid-career professionals.
• Employ modern pedagogical approaches, including case studies, experiential learning, and live projects, to bridge theory and practice.
• Contribute to the continuous development and refinement of the curriculum to ensure its relevance and alignment with global standards and industry needs.

C. Leadership and Institutional Service:

• Provide academic leadership and strategic direction for the Centre for Sustainability.
• Act as a key liaison between the university and industry partners, governmental bodies, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange.
• Enhance the university's reputation as a thought leader in sustainability through public engagement, expert commentary, and outreach activities.
• Participate actively in faculty governance, academic committees, and strategic university-wide initiatives.
• Contribute to student recruitment and the overall intellectual life of the Woxsen community.

4. Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

• A Ph.D. from a globally recognized university in a field relevant to sustainability (e.g., Management, Environmental Science, Economics, Public Policy, Engineering, or a related interdisciplinary field).
• A minimum of 10 years of post-Ph.D. teaching and/or research experience at a university or research institution, with a record that merits appointment at the rank of Professor.
• An outstanding and sustained record of publications in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals.
• A proven track record of securing competitive external research grants.
• Demonstrated excellence in university-level teaching and student mentorship, including experience supervising doctoral students to completion.
• An established international reputation and a strong network within the academic and professional sustainability community.
