Professor of Business Analytics

Woxsen University is seeking to appoint an eminent academic leader as a Professor of Business Analytics. 3. Key Responsibilities

The role is structured around the three pillars of academic contribution: Research, Teaching, and Institutional Leadership.

A. Research and Scholarship:

• Lead and conduct world-class, impactful research in key areas of Business Analytics, such as Machine Learning applications in business, AI Strategy, Predictive Modeling, Big Data Analytics, Data Visualization, or Prescriptive Analytics.
• Consistently publish in top-tier, peer-reviewed international journals (e.g., FT50, ABDC A*/A, leading Information Systems/Data Science journals).
• Secure significant external research funding from government bodies, international agencies, and corporate partners to establish a Centre of Excellence in Analytics.
• Disseminate research findings at premier international conferences, contributing to Woxsen's global academic visibility.
• Foster a collaborative, interdisciplinary research environment, particularly bridging the School of Business and the School of Technology.

B. Teaching and Mentorship:

• Design, develop, and teach advanced courses in Business Analytics at the undergraduate, postgraduate (MBA), and doctoral levels. Potential topics include Predictive Analytics, Machine Learning for Business, AI Strategy, and Big Data Technologies.
• Provide high-quality supervision and mentorship to Ph.D. students and master's candidates, guiding their research to successful and impactful completion.
• Deliver specialized workshops and modules for Executive Education, empowering industry leaders with cutting-edge analytics skills using tools like Python, R, SQL, and Tableau.
• Champion innovative, hands-on pedagogy, incorporating real-world datasets, industry case studies, and live projects into the curriculum.

C. Leadership and Institutional Service:

• Provide intellectual and strategic leadership for the Business Analytics domain within the School of Business and across the university.
• Play a central role in curriculum design and program development to ensure Woxsen remains at the forefront of analytics education.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with leading companies in the technology, consulting, and finance sectors to facilitate student internships, placements, and collaborative research.
• Serve as a public intellectual for the university, offering expert commentary and thought leadership on the role of data and AI in the modern economy.
• Actively participate in faculty governance, university committees, and strategic initiatives that advance Woxsen's mission.

4. Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

• A Ph.D. from a globally recognized university in Business Analytics, Data Science, Information Systems, Computer Science, Statistics, or a closely related quantitative field.
• A minimum of 10 years of post-Ph.D. teaching and/or research experience, with a distinguished record appropriate for appointment at the Professor rank.
• An exceptional and sustained publication record in top-tier, internationally recognized academic journals.
• A proven history of attracting and managing external research grants.
• Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the university level, with experience in supervising doctoral students to completion.
• An established international reputation and a robust professional network in the field of data science and analytics.
