Job Purpose:
This role is responsible for team leadership of logistics team, strategy, and operations/execution. Managing logistics function including warehousing, local transportation, freight and customs co-ordination, Planning & Inventory management and managing 3PL service providers as specified. Main scope includes but not limited to leading logistics for:
- India Sales and service organization
- India production and sourcing hub
This person needs to ensure company’s internal and external clients are efficiently serviced in line with policies, procedures and business goals.

Key duties and responsibilities:
1. Leadership
- People Leadership and direct management of the Logistics operations, Planning/purchasing and Delivery fulfilment team.
- Build and maintain positive workplace morale and an effective Team. Provide knowledge, advice, direction and feedback on a regular basis.
- Plan, develop and maintain on-going performance monitoring and evaluation to ensure that the Operations goals and objectives are achieved, and that all subordinate employees adhere to the corporate standards and goals.
- Conduct annual Performance Reviews, Bonus Plan development and reviews. Talent Management of up-and-coming individuals and succession planning.
- Ensure that all job positions are covered by people of adequate skills and experience to maintain safe and efficient operations.
- Act as a coach to direct reports, identify their training and career development, recommend training courses and follow up on their personnel records such as time sheets, discipline, leaves and absenteeism.
2. Logistics Operations Management
- Manage the overall Logistics operations, outsourced 3PL and transportation services.
- Plan, develop and maintain on-going performance monitoring and evaluation to ensure that the Operations goals and objectives are achieved, and that all subordinate employees adhere to the corporate standards and goals.
- Liaise and support the Sales & Service organization (SSU) and India Production hub/sourcing hub ensuring that all needs for the Operations functions are identified, assessed, and fulfilled to support and ensure that all activities are performed in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
- Manage logistics cost as planned in RF, identify savings opportunities and drive optimization.
- Conduct periodic meetings with subordinates to ensure smooth running of all processes and activities and follow-up on the progress of on-going projects and programs.
- Provide directions to ensure effective day-to-day management of the warehouse operation, transportation, customs brokerage, procurement, planning, 3PL management and all related processes and procedures. Ensure that warehouse activities are compliant with company environment, health, and safety regulations.
- Manage freight and transportation to optimize transport mode, cost, and sustainability.
- Follow up and monitor efficient and effective operation on the international land transport related services and the safe delivery of products.
- Analyze client needs and make recommendation for developing, implementing, improving and expanding logistics related services, programs and policies.
- Lead the negotiation and management of Operations contracts with consultants, suppliers, clients, etc.
3. Planning & Purchasing
- Lead the planning and purchasing activity. Works with Team lead to ensure planning and purchasing plans are in place and reviewed.
- Review and forecast purchasing requirements and planning needs. Ensure data analytics and reporting are managed via SAP and tools.
- Work closely with Global S&OP, Commercial and Finance to support the planning process.
- Ensure purchase materials to required specification at the best price, quality, quantity, and delivery requirements.
- MRP and management of stock levels according to forecasts.
- Approve the ordering of necessary goods and services as well as finalizing details of orders and deliveries.
- Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
4. Inventory Management
- Support to achieve working capital targets and DIO.
- Ensure proper inventory management and reconciliation of stocks physically and in system.
- Set-up cycle count practices and stocktake procedures in accordance with Global processes.
- Actively work towards optimizing the overall inventory situation.
- Managing obsolete, aging stocks and provide visibility to stakeholders.
5. Delivery Fulfilment
- Lead Delivery fulfilment activity to customers and distributors
- Work with Team/Leads to ensure successful orders dispatch and tracking as required.
- Consignment replenishment and spare parts delivery support.
- Continuous process improvement, implement innovative ideas like RPA to optimize the processes.
- Manage outsourced partner to ensure the day-to-day activities are carried out as per requirement and compliance.
6. Project and initiatives
- Actively engage in APAC regional initiatives to share and learn best practices.
- Lead and manage logistics projects, identify optimization/continuous improvement opportunities, and implement. Track the projects and update the stakeholders periodically.
- Input to budget planning for supply chain activities and ensuring the actual does not exceed the plan.
6. Quality and compliance
- Comply with QA and WH&S policies and procedures.
- Report personal injuries and accidents promptly.
- Correct WH&S hazards and report those which cannot be immediately corrected.
- Be actively involved and report all QA and WH&S programs and activities.
- Support logistics related QMS activities
- Ensure strict compliance in all activities managed by Logistics team.
Knowledge/Skills/Experience:
- Strong knowledge of Customer service, Warehousing and distribution, Inventory planning, logistic policies, processes, and practices.
- A good understanding of end-to-end supply chain and logistics. Ability to identify and prevent workflow obstructions.
- Strong management and leadership skills. Excellent people, organization, and time management skills essential
- Strong communication and negotiation skills and high-level managerial skills to manage a diverse range of people.
- Skills in training, coaching, motivating, procedures and policies and time management.
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels with a diversity of people, ranging from staff to customers.
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.

- Physically fit to safely carry out the duties of the role without significant risk to self or others.

- 15+ year’s work experience Supply Chain/Logistics role overseeing in all areas. Experience within a Healthcare related industry desirable
