Reports to: COO & MD


Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Offset Production Manager to lead our offset printing operations in the printing and packaging industry. This role demands technical expertise in offset printing, strong communication skills, and a strategic approach to managing production workflows. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of printing machines, design processes, costing, manpower management, and vendor coordination. The Offset Production Manager will be responsible for ensuring seamless operations, maintaining quality standards, and meeting delivery timelines.


Key Responsibilities

Production Management

  • Develop and implement detailed production plans to meet client deadlines and company goals.
  • Monitor the entire offset production workflow, from pre-press to post-press activities, ensuring efficient operations.
  • Troubleshoot production issues promptly to minimize downtime and ensure high-quality output.
  • Optimize machine utilization and production processes for maximum efficiency.


Technical Expertise

  • Operate and oversee offset printing machines, ensuring they are maintained and functioning optimally.
  • Manage the implementation of advanced techniques like drip-off UV, Metpad, and other specialty printing processes.
  • Stay updated on the latest developments in offset printing technology and introduce innovations to improve operations.
  • Leverage industry contacts to source expertise and resolve machine-related issues effectively.


Client Communication and Coordination

  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, understanding their requirements and translating them into actionable plans.
  • Provide regular updates to clients on project status and address their concerns proactively.
  • Ensure client satisfaction by delivering high-quality products within agreed timelines.


Design Process Understanding

  • Collaborate with design teams to interpret client briefs and ensure designs are production-ready.
  • Exposure to design software such as Adobe Illustrator, CorelDRAW, and AI-based tools to support the production process.
  • Verify design accuracy and compatibility with production specifications before execution.


Vendor Management and Coordination

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure the timely procurement of raw materials and services.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with vendors to optimize costs.
  • Address and resolve supply chain issues that could impact production timelines.


Costing and Budget Management

  • Prepare and analyze detailed rate lists for products and services, ensuring competitive pricing and profitability.
  • Manage procurement budgets effectively, ensuring optimal resource allocation and cost savings.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce production costs while maintaining high-quality standards.


Manpower Management

  • Allocate shifts and assign tasks to ensure efficient production schedules.
  • Monitor and manage absenteeism, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Train, motivate, and lead the production team to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Foster a safe and collaborative working environment, adhering to company policies and safety regulations.


Quality Assurance and Compliance

  • Ensure all production processes adhere to established quality standards and client specifications.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify and address any quality issues.
  • Maintain compliance with industry regulations and company policies throughout the production process.


Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Printing Technology, Packaging, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in offset production management in the printing and packaging industry.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Extensive knowledge of offset printing machines and their operation.
  • Proficiency in specialty techniques like drip-off UV, Met pet, and other advanced printing methods.
  • Communication: Exceptional English communication skills for client and vendor interactions.
  • Leadership: Strong ability to manage and motivate teams, allocate resources, and handle manpower effectively.
  • Analytical: Expertise in rate list preparation, costing, and procurement processes.
  • Networking: Established network of industry contacts for machine servicing, raw materials, and other support needs.
