Functional Expertise

1. Strategic Liaison with Partner Banks and Financial Institutions

o Example: Managing at operational level partnerships with leading banks such as HDFC, ICICI,

and Yes Bank, ensuring efficient communication on complex issues like regulatory updates,

merchant integrations, and high-value reconciliations.

o Relevance: As a Manager, the role requires a strategic focus on managing relationships at

senior levels within partner banks in terms of quick resolution of operational issues such as

refunds, chargebacks, or regulatory requirements is crucial to maintain smooth operations for

BharatPe’s merchant network.

2. Data Reporting & Compliance

o Example: Overseeing the submission of regulatory data to RBI and NPCI, while ensuring

compliance with national and international standards in digital payments.

o Relevance: Beyond just data sharing, the Manager is responsible for setting up mechanisms

that ensure accurate and timely reporting, mitigating compliance risks that could lead to hefty

fines or disruptions in business operations.

3. Contract Management and Execution

o Example: Leading the negotiation of agreements, drafting, and execution of agreements with

payments partners, ensuring that all contractual obligations are met and potential risks are


minimized.

o Relevance: This function at the level demands oversight of legal and compliance frameworks,

ensuring that all agreements are aligned with BharatPe’s business goals, protecting against

operational or financial risks.

4. Advanced Integration Management

o Example: Leading new technology integrations such as UPI 2.0 or BharatPe’s proprietary

systems with partner banks, coordinating with internal tech teams to execute seamless go-live

processes.

o Relevance: The Manager will not only ensure that these integrations are timely and smooth but

will also strategize future innovations to strengthen the BharatPe payments ecosystem and

maintain competitive market leadership.

5. Refund, Payout, and Chargeback Strategy

o Example: Creating strategic frameworks for the resolution of refunds, payouts, and

chargebacks with a focus on reducing operational backlogs and minimizing merchant impact.

o Relevance: Managing and streamlining these processes ensures that the merchants

experience minimal disruption, reinforcing BharatPe’s reputation as a reliable payments partner.


6. Cross-Functional Alignment at Strategic Level

o Example: Collaborating with department heads in Technology, Finance, and Operations to

ensure that partner bank requirements are in sync with BharatPe’s long-term strategic goals.

o Relevance: The Manager must go beyond day-to-day operations and contribute to strategic

planning, ensuring that cross-functional teams are aligned to achieve organizational KPIs.


7. Vendor Relationship Management

o Example: Managing senior-level relationships with banks, vendors, and payment gateways,

anticipating issues and proactively resolving them before they escalate.

o Relevance: This role involves high-stakes vendor management and requires a deep

understanding of both financial and operational impacts, ensuring that business continues

without interruptions.


8. Transaction Reconciliation Oversight

o Example: Leading monthly audits of transaction reconciliations across BharatPe’s platforms,

ensuring alignment with partner banks’ records, and flagging any discrepancies for early

resolution.

o Relevance: At this level, reconciliation oversight is crucial for preventing revenue leakage and

managing financial risk, ensuring operational efficiency across all payment channels.
