Apart from being the oldest charity organization and raising large sums of money to address community needs, we engage over 2.5 million corporate and community volunteers every year, a feat that sets us apart from other charities. The Bengaluru chapter of United Way Worldwide started in 2008, with the vision to make lasting and effective change within our city and the rural areas around it. By bringing communities together, unleashing their potential and ours, we work towards creating positive change in society.
Role:
The incumbent is responsible to define the strategic direction for corporate and other stakeholder relationships in terms of funding and programs. Responsible for raising funds, identifying programs with NGO partners or UWB flagship programs that align with CSR mandate, building capacity for corporates and funding partners, corporate volunteers and engaging them with KRA aligned with the business objectives.
Responsibilities:
a) Play a pivotal role in driving the corporate relations strategy for UWB in line with the organization's goals.
b) Map the landscape of funders (HNIs, CSR and Foundations) and identify potential organizations that would be interested in partnering with UWB.
c) Build a network of individuals, foundations, and corporates to build a pipeline of funding for the next 3 years.
d) Bring on board funding partners who are keen to work in domains UWB specialize in - Health, Environment, Education and Livelihood. Maintain a balance between programs across these 4 domains and other domains that corporates are interested.
e) Build capacity of the funding partners to understand the ground realities of the development sector and raise awareness on untapped/ critical needs of the community.
f) Negotiate and agree on terms and conditions that will work for the funding partners and UWB to build a long-term relationship.
g) Ensure MOUs are signed with Corporates based on agreement between UWB and the corporates.
h) Identify and build partnerships between corporates and NGOs for funding and volunteering.
i) Ensure needs are identified and mapped in a way that it will work for Corporates and NGOs
j) Oversee the corporate volunteering events organized by the team to ensure all expectations are met.
k) Coordinate with the Community Engagement team to ensure corporate programs/ events have been implemented as per plan.
l) Overseeing Marcomm activities with team members and providing day to day guidance and support
m) Overseeing Volunteering projects with Team and providing support.
n) Ability to Manage 50-60 Cr Funds/Grants size on annual basis.
o) Build and maintain strategic partnerships and relationships with the Foundations, Corporates, and key sector entities to help build presence and brand for UWB.
p) Identify opportunities to bring corporates together to work on social issues jointly.

c. Train, mentor, and groom team to build their capabilities and improve their performance.
d. Ensure team is adequately staffed to manage all the activities conducted in the Corporate Relations vertical.
e. Set goals and monitor progress of the team regularly. Provide feedback to help them improve their performance.
Educational Qualifications
a) The candidate should be a postgraduate or an equivalent degree in social work or in the relevant field.
b) The candidate should have a minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience with 3 years in a social sector.
c) The candidate should know English and Hindi and any other regional language (Kannada would be an added advantage).
d) The role requires travel so the candidate should be open to travel for work related assignments.
