Industry: FMCG – Food (Masala Preferred)
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and performance-driven Area Sales Manager (ASM) to manage our sales operations in Chennai. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 10 years' experience in the FMCG food sector, with a strong preference for candidates who have worked in spices/masala products.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive primary and secondary sales in the assigned territory (Chennai and nearby markets).
- Handle distributor and retailer network expansion and management.
- Develop sales strategies to meet monthly, quarterly, and annual targets.
- Lead and mentor a team of Territory Sales Officers/Executives.
- Plan and execute trade promotions, new product launches, and retail visibility initiatives.
- Monitor competitor activities and market trends; provide timely feedback to the management.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, pricing, and commercial terms.
- Submit regular reports and analysis on territory performance.
Key Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of experience in FMCG food sales.
- Strong experience in masala/spices product sales is highly preferred.
- Sound knowledge of Chennai and Tamil Nadu retail/wholesale markets.
- Proven experience in managing distributor and retail networks.
- Fluent in Tamil and English; Hindi is an added advantage.
- Bachelor's degree in any discipline (MBA preferred).
- Willingness to travel extensively within the region.
