Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to spearhead our efforts in expanding our portfolio of clinical trials projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business development within the clinical research industry, with a proven track record of securing partnerships and collaborations with sponsors and other Contract Research Organizations (CROs) or Site Management Organizations (SMOs). The Business Development Manager will play a pivotal role in driving the growth and success of the organization by identifying new business opportunities, cultivating relationships with key stakeholders, and negotiating contracts.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive business development strategy to drive growth and achieve revenue targets. This includes identifying target markets, assessing competition, and positioning the organization as a preferred partner for clinical trials.
Client Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with sponsors, pharmaceutical companies, biotechnology firms, and other potential clients. Act as the primary point of contact for client inquiries, ensuring prompt and professional communication at all times.
Lead Generation and Conversion: Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities through networking, industry events, cold calling, and other lead generation activities. Convert leads into tangible business opportunities by effectively pitching organization's capabilities and value proposition.
Proposal Development and Negotiation: Prepare high-quality proposals, presentations, and contract bids in collaboration with internal teams, addressing client needs and objectives. Negotiate contract terms and conditions to ensure mutually beneficial agreements for the organization and its clients.
Market Intelligence: Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies in clinical research. Conduct market research and analysis to identify new business trends and opportunities for expansion.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with internal teams, including project management, clinical operations, finance, and legal, to ensure seamless execution of client projects. Provide input and support for strategic decision-making processes.
Performance Tracking and Reporting: Monitor and track business development activities, pipeline progress, and revenue forecasts. Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management to evaluate performance against targets and identify areas for improvement.
