Position Overview:

JOOLA is seeking for an experienced Accounting Manager to lead the establishment and growth of a new Accounting Hub in India. This role will ensure that the Hub supports global accounting operations while adhering to accounting policies set by Global Headquarters (HQ). The Accounting Manager will be responsible for understanding existing processes, improving them where necessary, and training the team to ensure full compliance and efficiency. In addition, this individual will also oversee the startup and development of the hub, fostering a high-performance culture and aligning local operations with global strategic goals.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Establish and Scale the Accounting Hub:Lead the startup of the India-based Accounting Hub, including setting up operational frameworks, processes, and systems in alignment with Global HQ directives.Collaborate with global finance and accounting leadership to define the scope of services to be delivered by the hub.Ensure compliance with global and local accounting standards and policies.
  2. Compliance with Global Policies:Ensure all accounting operations are in full compliance with policies and standards directed by Global HQ.Understand, adapt, and implement HQ-directed accounting policies and procedures, making sure they are followed at all levels within the hub.
  3. Process Understanding, Improvement, and Training:Gain a deep understanding of existing processes and workflows.Identify areas for improvement and implement process enhancements to boost operational efficiency and accuracy.Train and guide the team to adhere to established processes and ensure continuous compliance with global standards.
  4. Team Leadership & Development:Recruit, onboard, and develop a high-performing accounting team, with a focus on skills necessary for supporting global operations.Provide coaching, mentoring, and development plans for the team, ensuring continuous improvement and growth.
  5. Global Accounting Operations:Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting for all global entities.Manage financial close processes, reconciliations, and analysis for various business units.Collaborate with regional finance teams to ensure alignment and seamless execution of global accounting strategies.
  6. Process Improvement & System Implementation:Drive process improvements to enhance the efficiency and quality of accounting operations where needed.Support ERP system configuration, implementation, and upgrades as required, ensuring smooth integration with global systems.Lead initiatives to automate and streamline workflows, improving the speed and accuracy of financial operations.
  7. Compliance & Internal Controls:Maintain robust internal controls, ensuring compliance with both local and international financial reporting standards (IFRS, GAAP).Support internal and external audit processes, ensuring appropriate documentation and support for financial transactions.
  8. Stakeholder Management:Act as a key liaison between the India Hub and global leadership, providing regular updates on Hub performance and progress.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including FP&A, tax, and treasury, to ensure smooth execution of global financial operations.


Education:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.

CPA/CA or equivalent certification preferred.


Experience:


  • 7+ years of relevant accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role.
  • Strong experience in setting up or scaling accounting operations, particularly in a shared services or hub environment.
  • Prior experience working with global teams and ensuring compliance with international policies.


Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of international accounting standards (IFRS, GAAP) and local regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.), especially in the context of supporting system implementations or upgrades.
  • Excellent leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to manage diverse teams across regions.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage relationships with senior stakeholders globally.
