JobDescription
Weare currently seeking a Payroll Specialist capable of handling allaspects of the payroll function. The ideal candidate will haveexperience in managing multiple tasks throughout their day whilemaintaining a high level of accuracy in their work and production.The specialist may be required to estimate modifications to payrates on the basis of overtime time off etc. He/she will offersupport to the payroll manager to guarantee veracity of dataentry.
This role ensures that allstakeholders are kept informed that the various and differentpayroll and related processes are administered appropriately; thatassigned projects are delivered within scope schedule budget andquality and accuracy levels are consistent withexpectations.
ResponsibilitiesInclude:
- Performtasks to establish and maintain employee payrollrecords
- Input review and audittimekeeping and other payrollrelatedrecords
- Maintain time and attendancerecords
- Enter new hires into thepayroll system
- Post changes in paytax status and other miscellaneouscategories
- Ensure compliance withlabour laws and companypolicies
- Compute wage overtime andother types of pay
- Calculate andrecord payroll deductions (voluntary andinvoluntary)
- Process advancetermination and other outofcyclepayments
- Reconcile earnings anddeduction totals
- Calculate andprepare general journalentries
- Review output registers andreports and correct outofbalanceconditions
- Prepare and file taxreports
- Compile payroll data formanagement auditors and others
- Serveas backup to other payrollspecialist
- Documentprocedures
- Assure that all employeesreceive timely responses to inquiries questionsetc.
- Independently coordinate andcommunicate with all internal groups hiring managers and externalparties (as required).
- Address andresolve problems in a timelymanner
- Take initiative; demonstratestrong decisionmaking and organizationalskills
- Initiate best practices;develop efficiencyimprovements
- Participate in specialprojects and other duties asassigned
- The Leave & TimeManagement Team (LTM) creates maintains and provides inputs topayroll relating to leave time and attendance of allemployees
- Assist in preparingpayrollbudgetsand forecasts.
- Stayupdated on changes in payroll regulations and bestpractices.
- Must have comprehensiveHR and payroll knowledge of government policies legislations andtax regulations
- Respond to andresolve payrollrelated inquiries fromemployees
