Job Overview: As a Transmission Lead in the telecom industry, you will be responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of the transmission network. Your role involves ensuring the efficient and reliable transmission of data and voice services, managing a team of professionals, and collaborating with other departments to achieve organizational objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Network Design and Planning:

Lead the design and planning of the transmission network, considering capacity requirements, reliability, and scalability. Ensure alignment with overall network architecture and business objectives.

Implementation and Deployment:

Oversee the implementation of transmission solutions, including the deployment of new technologies and equipment. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration.

Performance Monitoring:

Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for the transmission network. Implement measures to optimize network performance and reliability.

Fault Management:

Lead the identification, analysis, and resolution of transmission network faults. Implement preventive measures to minimize downtime and service disruptions.

Team Leadership:

Manage and lead a team of transmission engineers and technicians. Conduct regular performance reviews, provide mentorship, and foster a collaborative team environment.

Vendor Management:

Collaborate with vendors for the procurement of transmission equipment and services. Evaluate vendor performance and negotiate contracts.

Capacity Planning:

Conduct capacity planning to ensure that the transmission network meets current and future demand. Implement strategies for network expansion and upgrades.

Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain accurate documentation of the transmission network, including configurations, diagrams, and procedures. Prepare regular reports for senior management on network performance and projects.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Extensive experience in the design and management of transmission networks. Knowledge of telecommunications standards, protocols, and technologies.

Skills:

Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities. In-depth knowledge of transmission technologies such as SDH, DWDM, and microwave. Effective communication and collaboration skills.
