A Day in the Life

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

Responsible for developing and maintaining with strategic partners within and outside of Medtronic India and working with them to identify and qualify new business opportunities. Work closely with Marketing Director India to understand and project trends. Basis which major decisions around operating models can be decided. Develops and drives appropriate portfolio management strategy in collaboration with the Business Units to expand and protect market share, optimize pricing strategy, and build long-term contractual agreements and relationships with clients and strategic partners. Work on innovative and stronger business models which can drive growth and optimize costs. Responsible for understanding the assigned account's strategic priorities and developing appropriate value-added programs for each account. Develops, communicates, and implements business plans to achieve strategic target business results. Identifies and develops ongoing mutual opportunities for sales growth with key strategic accounts. Leads the Remote Sales Team – a part of special initiative and Go To Market strategy for Medtronic in India Must Have: Minimum Requirements

SALES/Business Development Background: Sales professionals with experience in direct sales responsibilities and people management responsibilities will be an added advantage. Business development, market development experience in competitive industries required. Most of the time is spent in analyzing trends, creating proposals and suggesting business changed which can drive exponential growth. Work closely with remote sales group and create a sustainable model for ensuring business continuity through alternate channels of business results.

Required Knowledge and Experience:  Requires deep knowledge of job area typically obtained through education combined with extensive sales experience. Typically viewed as having a specialty within discipline. Requires a 10 years of relevant experience and expert level knowledge of company products and services.


Nice to Have

Autonomy:  Recognized sales expert, Go to market champion and understanding localization of products for Indian relevance important. Develops proposals and assesses customer needs in order to recommend customized products/services. Works with senior executives within the company and Asia Region Led Markets team.

Organizational Impact:  Works to achieve and create sustainable business models, ensure appropriate information for India being shared at Asia region level and present compelling business cases to create opportunities for growth. Has a major impact on achieving functional results and contributes to the strategic planning efforts.

Communication and Influence:  Influences internal contacts (within and outside of the job area) and external suppliers, customers and / or vendors regarding policy, practices and procedures.
Communicates with high level business stakeholders at external suppliers, customers and / or vendors, involving expert negotiation and / or presentations in order to manage and expand strategic relationships and sustain business continuity. Communicate strongly within Asia region on business models and paint a strong picture for India to attract investments internally.

Leadership and Talent Management:  Determines methods and procedures on new assignments and may coordinate activities of other personnel. Typically responsible for providing guidance, coaching and training to other sales professionals and / or support employees for varies Go To Market models.
