Broad outline of the Role

Capacity Expansion and Redesign Projects:

Lead and oversee comprehensive capacity expansion and redesign projects across PAN India DWDM NLD, HODXC, and Metro networks.

Critical Activity Management:

Spearhead critical activities, including new line system implementation, POP migration, NE Software Version Upgrade, ILA Insertion, and other key network enhancement initiatives.

Service Provisioning and Trail Management:

Manage end-to-end service provisioning, WDM trail creation, and migration activities to ensure seamless network transitions. Facilitate ASON trail optimization for efficient and dynamic network operations.

NE Software Upgradation and Training:

Drive NE Software Upgradation initiatives, ensuring network infrastructure is up-to-date with the latest technology. Develop and execute comprehensive training plans for new staff and Huawei internal teams to enhance technical proficiency.

Project Tracking and Technical Support:

Maintain detailed project trackers to monitor progress, identify bottlenecks, and ensure timely completion of all network-related projects. Provide hands-on technical support to NOC and field teams, addressing challenges and ensuring smooth project rollout. Handle technical queries from customers, offering timely and effective solutions.

Performance Analysis and Business Case Preparation:

Conduct in-depth NLD DWDM route performance analysis to identify areas for improvement. Prepare detailed business cases for network improvement projects, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.

Yearly Electronic Redesigns:

Lead yearly NLD & MAN electronic redesigns, collaborating with vendors such as Huawei, Ciena, and Tejas. Incorporate architectural changes and enhancements to optimize network performance.

Architecture Uptime Validation:

Validate uptime for multiple architectures in NLD & MAN, conducting thorough analysis to determine the most optimal configurations.

Transponder Solutions Analysis and Vendor Assessments:

Analyze single transponder solutions in NLD/MAN network to enhance efficiency. Assess and introduce new vendors, conducting comprehensive testing during network implementations.

Initiatives for OPEX Reduction:

Drive initiatives for rack space and power optimization to contribute to OPEX reduction.

In summary, my role encompasses strategic oversight, project management, technical leadership, and continuous improvement efforts to ensure the highest standards of network performance and efficiency.

Minimum qualification & experience

Graduation with 10 to 15 years of relevant experience

Other knowledge/skills

Troubleshooting experience of network, equipment and service level faults Ability to write and present a comprehensive vulnerability assessment report. Understanding of domain and related technologies Understanding manual testing techniques and methods to gain a better understanding of the environment and reduce false positives/negatives.

Key Responsibilities

Create and maintain infrastructure necessary for the growth and upkeep of field and network operations to drive network efficiency and availability. Work directly with other OEM on repeat issues, bugs and implement resolution through defined change management process. Review CFT teams changes frequency, criticality and identify gap and prepare SOP (documents) to ensure no change error. The role may be an individual contributor or may lead a small team.
