Overview:The OPD(Outpatient Department) Executive plays a crucial role in thehealthcare organization ensuring the smooth functioning ofoutpatient services. This role involves managing patientappointments handling administrative tasks and providing excellentcustomer service to patients visiting the OPD. The OPD Executive isresponsible for maintaining patient records coordinating withmedical staff and ensuring a positive experience forpatients.KeyResponsibilities:
  • Manage and schedulepatient appointments in the outpatientdepartment
  • Handle patient inquiries and provideinformation about OPD services
  • Ensure efficientcoordination between patients doctors and medicalstaff
  • Coordinate with insurance providers forpreauthorization and claims processing
  • Executeadministrative tasks such as filing data entry and recordmanagement
  • Assist in maintaining cleanlinessand order in the OPD waiting area
  • Resolvepatient complaints and issues in a professional and empatheticmanner
  • Collaborate with other departments toensure seamless patient care
  • Adhere toestablished medical and ethicalstandards
  • Assist in monitoring and ordering OPDsupplies
  • Participate in training andorientation of new staff members
  • Contribute tothe development and implementation of OPD processimprovements
  • Ensure compliance with healthcareregulations and standards
RequiredQualifications:
  • Bachelors degree inhealthcare administration business administration or relevantfield
  • Prior experience in a customer service oradministrative role preferably in a healthcaresetting
  • Proficiency in using electronic healthrecord (EHR) systems
  • Strong communication andinterpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizationaland time management abilities
  • Understanding ofmedical terminology and healthcareprocesses
  • Ability to maintain confidentialityand handle sensitive informationappropriately
  • Knowledge of insuranceverification and preauthorizationprocesses
  • Attention to detail and accuracy indata entry and recordkeeping
  • Ability to workeffectively in a fastpaced and dynamic healthcareenvironment
  • Empathetic and courteous attitudetowards patients and their families
  • Familiaritywith medical billing and coding processes (CPT and ICD10codes)
  • Capability to multitask and prioritizetasks effectively
  • Basic understanding ofhealthcare compliance and regulatoryrequirements
