Job Description

Summary: The SE I will be involved in support of highly critical Windows server environment running on VMware and Azure platforms and will be engaged in support/deployment/management of multiple Windows environments along with a team of technically competent professionals.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Applies technical expertise to quickly resolve standard to moderately complex production issues with Windows servers; Azure and VMware products.
  • Responsible for providing remote support in resolving Windows Servers issues when problems have been identified.
  • Position yourself as a trusted advisor to customers; colleagues and partner with them to understand their requirements for Windows implementations and migrations on OnPrem and Azure Platforms
  • Provide recommendations to project teams with respect to cloud migrations and prepare technical implementation roadmaps for Azure adoption.
  • Works on incidents of various priorities which requires “hands-on” technical understanding of the systems; architectures; various products and issues and works towards resolution and escalate; if necessary.
  • Create functional design specifications; reference architectures; and assist with other project deliverables as needed.
  • Contributes to “risks and issues” log and work on SIPs implementation to mitigate the risks & issues.
  • Responsible for attending to daily service requests; resolving incidents; problem management; Adhoc requests and attending service management meetings/conferences; perform documentation and follow ups.
  • Collaborates with the team members to influence and ensure that support is operating efficiently and generates accurate reports
  • Coordinates with vendor to provide a break-fix as required
  • Create documentation for changes; process maps; system diagrams; RCA etc.
  • Interacts with Project Managers on business projects and delivers as per their project requirements; which includes implementation of new projects as per requirements; etc.
  • Implements technical initiatives and process improvements.
  • Design state-of-the-art technical solutions on Azure that address customer’s requirements for scalability; reliability; security; and performance and leverage existing investments in Azure/MS platforms.
  • Learn; learn; and learn by staying up-to-date on all technical developments related to Azure and other public cloud platforms.
  • Design and build advanced test automation frameworks.
  • Design and build tooling and infrastructure through automation for process and activities to help engineering teams measure and increase their velocity.

Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • 8+ years of experience in windows admin or automation experience.
  • Expert level proficiency in Microsoft PowerShell and Automation
  • At least 1+ years of experience in PowerShell Script development in automating IT Infrastructure.
  • At least 1+ years of experience in Azure Administration & Azure IaaS.
  • 2 years of Cloud operational quality advanced PowerShell scripting.
  • Experience and knowledge of Git; JIRA; and Jenkins a plus.
  • Experience in all aspects of Windows Servers & Azure including
  • Installation/Configuration/Administration/ troubleshooting/migrations and best practice
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP; DNS; DHCP; NTP and assorted other protocols
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects; both short term and long term.
  • Exposure to VMware and Azure Cloud.
  • Exposure to Win2008; Win2012; Windows 2016; Linux OS.
  • Exposure to different Storage Technologies.
  • Experience with migration of servers from on-prem to Azure.
