Fluids/Mechanical Design Engineer Tubing (200 tubes torelease in 2 months)

Responsibilities:
  • Design ofvarious pressure vessel types and shapes to accommodate vehiclespace allocation and integration envelope.
  • Design of fluid lines and flex elements for cryogenic andspace applications.
  • Drawing generationincluding tolerance and GD&T setup.
  • Ownership of design release cycle including drawingsrelease and DFM reviews.
  • Analysis of primaryand secondary spacecraft pressure vessels
  • Integration of structural analysis with loads anddynamics environments
  • Finite Element Modeldevelopment refinement validation and correlation totests
  • Strength checks and analysis reportgeneration
  • Test and verification plan andreport generation
  • Support configurationdevelopment and trade studies
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Minimum of a B.S. degree in Mechanical Aerospace or CivilEngineering
  • 2 5 years of experience in theprediction/validation of low and highfrequency structural dynamicsand loads in addition to finite element modeling
  • A solid foundation of structural static/dynamicfundamentals
  • Passion for spacecraftstructural/environmental loads development/validation
  • Ability to solve a variety of static and dynamicstructural problems using physicsbased analytical methods (handcalculations inhouse tools and 3rd party commercial analyticaltools)
  • Ability to earn trust maintain positiveand professional relationships and contribute to a culture ofinclusion
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or nationalU.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder) or lawfullyadmitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
Experience with aircraft spacecraft launchvehicles or automotive in some of the following areas:
  • External loads
  • Vibroacoustic analysis
  • ThermalLoading
  • Analysis using Nastran Ansys AbaqusLSDyna or Optistruct
PreferredQualifications:
  • COPV Pressure Vesseldesign and analysis
  • Metallic Pressure Vesseldesign and analysis
  • Fluids Lines design andanalysis
  • Flex Elements design andanalysis
  • Composite design and analysis skillsin any thermoset thermoplastic metal matrix and ceramic matrixcomposites
  • Manufacturing methods materialselection testing characterization & allowabledevelopment
  • Experience testing materialsjoints components and vehicles
  • Structuraloptimization using standard industry codes (Optistruct HyperSizerNastran Sol 200 etc)
  • Experience withProEngineer Wildfire 4 / Creo Parametric or greater
  • Experience with ProEngineer Wildfire 4 / Creo Parametricor greater piping / routing module
  • Experiencewith Human spaceflight
  • Experience withcomposites
  • Experience with AIAA S080 andS081
  • Experience with EJMA Ninth and TenthEdition
