ANZ’s Group Capability Centres (GCC) are critical to the delivery of ANZ’s operations and strategy and provide services and support to Divisions across the organisation globally. The Transaction Banking (TB) business within the Institutional Division is seeking to leverage the GCC more extensively as a strategic enabler to improve banker and customer experience, provide access to broader talent pools and achieve increased efficiency.

As GCC Lead, Transaction Banking the role will act as a connector between the GCC and the broader TB business with the mission to drive TB’s strategic outcomes in the GCC environment. This role will lead the teams in the GCC to better understand and connect them with the broader future vision for TB, actively accelerate and optimise transitions that are in-flight, lead and influence key senior stakeholders and teams to best understand and influence GCC and the operating environment, in ways that align to expectations of the business, customers, industry regulators and the community.

The GCC Lead, TB will have matrix reporting into the India leadership and global TB leadership teams.

What will your day look like

​As a GCC Lead, Transaction Banking, you will deliver value for ANZ.

People Leadership - Day-to-day accountability over people management tasks including recruitment approval and sourcing, as well as work management tasks including determining work required and capability required for employees in the Service Centre as it relates to the Transaction Banking strategic agenda.

Collaborating with GCC stakeholders and representing the Transaction Banking business onshore and offshore in the Bengaluru Service Centre.

Transition Ownership – Responsible for the successful transition of roles and SME knowledge as the receiving location leader working closely with the sending location Transition Lead and functional leaders

Talent recruitment and retention – leverage bank and industry wide network to attract the right talent into the team and proactively implement techniques for talent development and retention.

Thought Leader - Improving and innovating to uplift processes, evolve policies across end-to-end TB and GCC strategic priorities. Prioritising additional offshoring opportunities to deliver maximum business benefit on improvement of processes.

Building out clear accountabilities, success measures and ways of working in partnership with Functional Leads for those teams working in offshore locations.

Influencing senior stakeholders within a matrixed environment to deliver the right outcomes for customers and understand and influence GCC and its operating environment.

Role modelling and promoting ANZ values, shaping a high-performance culture, Create-Deliver-Together behaviours and leading the team to do the same.

Experience in establishing a new local team transitioning and supporting activities from global teams with a strong results-oriented mindset.

Broad network to support recruitment, adept at attracting and retaining the talent in the team.

Resilience and empathy as a leader; known for integrity and the gravitas to become a key influencer in the GCC environment, and with the onshore ANZ Transaction Banking Leadership team.

The ability to lead and motivate diverse teams, anchoring your approach in ANZ’s values and leadership behaviours. This includes a reputation for coaching, encouraging curiosity and investing in people development.

Wide range of experience working across a broad stakeholder group ranging from senior executives, enablement partners, vendors, delivery & operational teams.

Banking experience would be strongly preferred. Any experience in the Institutional or Transaction Banking / Payments space and working with globally distributed teams would be a distinct advantage will be a huge advantage

Proven commercial acumen, analytical skills and data-driven influencing to improve operational performance. Any experience around business process automation / Lean methodology will be an advantage.

Aptitude to be able to prioritise and manage multiple activities on relatively short notice. You’re someone who thrives in dealing with ambiguity and is a problem solver, never shy of looking for the next challenge.
