Roles andResponsibilities: Willtypically include (but not restrictedto)

  • Drive toensure that project is allocated to the composite manufacturingengineering team with technical inputs safety ontime within thebudget of the project.
  • Preparereview and obtain approvals of detailed work instructionsprocedures PFMEAs and JSAs that meet design process quality safetyand environmentalrequirements.
  • Handson experience onadvanced composite manufacturing processes like Filament windmachine programming and operation Hand layup RTM VARIM and Prepregtechnologies (Monolithic and Sandwich) along with knowledge of coreprocessing techniques etc.
  • Analyzeengineering drawings and specifications in support of Designdevelopment and manufacturing robust and advanced part and toolingdesigns including concepts and proving of hardware of MouldsAssembly trimming and drilling Jig andFixture.
  • Knowledge and understandingof relevant composite material testing areadvantageous.
  • Creation of workinstructions for endtoend composite component manufacture(Laminating through to Assembly and Paint) to support a Right FirstTime philosophy.
  • Sound Knowledge onthe documentation for Design Manufacturing Quality andFAI.
  • Good Knowledge in GD&Twith Catia V5/SolidWorksExperience.
  • Provide technicalmanufacturing inputs and guidance to shop floor design quality andmanagement teams.
  • Strong knowledgeof Raw material selection Qualification reporting andanalysis.
  • Interface with all of therelated support groups for processes to ensure accuracy control andsafety of the personnel and quality of thehardware.
  • Through Knowledge ofrework schemes of aerospace compositehardware.
  • Perform investigations ofnonconforming hardware and implement corrective actions to preventfuture occurrences.
  • Presentfabrication processes at customer readiness reviews and presentprocess change to customers at change boardmeetings.
  • Compression molding withrubber molding compounds and/or Prepreg is stronglydesired.
  • Hand layup and cure ofinsulation and other ablative materials arerequired.
  • Surface preparation forprimary substrates to bond rubber or composite isdesired
  • Autoclave and DigitalCutting Table programming and operation and programming is aplus.
  • Good Knowledge of the QualitySystem of Aerospace D fense and Space on implementation of AS9100 Dand NADCAP work Procedure anddocumentation.



DesiredSkills:

  • Musthave at least 46 years experience within the Compositesmanufacturing industry.
  • Must haveexperience with supply chain management and the development ofvendors for fabrication.
  • Must have agood understanding of various Composites manufacturing processesand equipment used such as Filament Winding Tape windingCompression molding Resin transfer molding Hand layup PrePreggingetc.
  • Must have experience withFilament winding in proving out composite motor casing (CRMC)composite vehicle sections launch tubes nozzlesetc.
  • Must be able to showcase theskills in operating 4 & 5 axis CNC filament windingmachines autoclaves & ovens tape winding machines hydraulicpress etc.
  • Knowledge on variousbonding techniques between dissimilar materials interfaces such asMetalsComposites ElastomerComposites ElastomerMetalsetc
  • Should be familiar with rawmaterials qualification standards (ASTM/BS/IS etc) for metallicsand Composites
  • Must know inprocessand final quality acceptance of Launch vehicle composite hardwarerealized through filament winding hand layup and other processesboth through conventional and NDTtechniques.
  • Ability to act quicklyon fluctuating demands and coordinate well with internal teams forclosure and be responsible for the manufacturing of theHardware.


1) Experience in QA/QC in Precision assemblies & testing ofMechanical systems. 2) Knowledge in preparing Quality AssurancePlans/Quality Assessment report for new products. 3) Knowledge inraw material testing standards such as ASTM/AMS for metallics. 4)Familiarity with quality acceptance standards for aerospace gradefasteners, springs & seals desirable.
