Purpose of the Role

National Category Head- F&V is an empowered role in More Retail Limited that is responsible for end to end P&L for the category of Fresh produce from sourcing to merchandising. This role will manage regional F&V categories across geographies for Hypermarket, Supermarket and online channels. The purpose of this role is to make More Retail as the best retailer in the country for freshness, quality and availability of Fruits and Vegetables and garner 20%+ share of wallet in the catchment of the store

Principal Responsibilities

This principal responsibilities of the role will entail the following.

1. Develop and execute the business plan for Fruits & Vegetables category across the country

2. Create, review and execute the consolidated Fruits & Vegetable category budget as per annual & medium-term sales and to ensure it meets business objectives

3. Understanding the key cost building factors in fruits and vegetables supply chain

4. Analyzing data, review price benchmarking of competition market, forecasting, review of losses dump & shrinkage

5. Continuously improve the assortment with the right mix of local ranges, new products and national best sellers

6. Collaborate cross-functionally to set the direction for the Circle Category Heads, Category Managers and Circle Directors by ensuring the vision for MRPL is reflected along with synergy between teams

7. Collaborative planning of buying and merchandising of all F&V product class thereby aiming cost reductionDevelop product wise strategies to attract & retain shoppers

8. Plan and execute promotional and pricing programs to drive price perception and sales

9. Manage and deliver:

Sales and Margin targets COC for the category nationally and regionally Management of stock and adherence to the WC norms Appropriate composition of local range Execution of agreed private label strategies Negotiations with key vendors on TOT Drive availability by focusing on regular fill rate reviews with the key vendors Ensure to consistently conform to range, price, promotion, space, vendor & replenishment processes & policies Reduce spoilage and wastage by enforcing stringent quality standards from sourcing to point of sale Drive Standard merchandising processes to ensure compliance to all statutory regulations applicable to the category

Education and Experience

Total 12+ years of experience Min 7 years experience in handling end to end Fruits & Vegetable category  Post graduate degree in Agri Business management is preferred
