Job Purpose:
The Finance & Risk Shared Services(FRSS) Tax information Reporting (TIR) unit in Mumbai has primaryresponsibility for the documentation validation withholding andReporting across multiple business lines. Utilising a third partyvendor application as well as internal systems the unit makesdecisions that impact the future taxation and onward reporting ofclients income.
Tax regulation has changed significantlyin the past few years and from this the requirements to validatetax documentation prior to account opening have increased in bothvolume and complexity.
The unit provides support to ourclients as well as the Implementations and Client Exec teams.Client calls to discuss requirements are not uncommon. JobBackground/context:
Responsible for inscope processesrelated to one or multiple lines of business within the centralizedTax Information Reporting function in FRSS. This position supportsthe reduction/elimination of s franchise & regulatory riskthrough accurate and timely reporting and enhanced due diligence oncustomer accounts. The incumbent will support businesses and isexpected to develop and enhance their product knowledge within ashort timeframe. In addition the incumbent may be expected tomigrate information reporting functions from various businessesinto FRSS; this process includes training and job shadowingbuilding documentation such as procedures and process flows andidentifying gaps in the process based on IRSregulations.

This position will work in ateamoriented environment.

KeyResponsibilities:

Manage the identificationcollation and submission of FATCA and CRS Reporting data acrossEMEA Custody & Markets businesses
Assist withupdating and maintaining operational procedures relating to TaxInformation reporting
Execute functions from the TaxInformation Reporting process tree including but not limited to taxform validation withholding information reporting legal entitymaintenance and governance
Act as a tax informationreporting specialist to execute operational and projectinitiatives
Develop best practices and implementappropriate procedures and controls to ensure consistent compliancewith Information Reporting FATCA and/or CRS requirements
First point of contact for queries relating to above and escalatingto senior team members when required
Support FRSSService Delivery model with all stakeholders
Identifyand participate in process reengineering and redesign activities toachieve better controls compliance and efficiencies
Support audits by tax authorities and Internal Audit
Support Technology projects from a tax technicalperspective
Contribute towards departmental requirementto adhere to strict regulatory and compliance requirements per taxauthority and policy
Assist with Regulatory Reportingrequirements across FATCA and CRS as required.

Person Specification

Practical experience within the operations tax/assetservicing industry
Familiarity with securitiesoperations and workflows (BackOffice and MiddleOffice) along withKnowledge of the supported/related business areas (Equities FixedIncome Derivatives Settlements Reconciliation).
Experience of compiling data defining documenting controlrequirements and detailed procedures.

Skills:
Basic understanding of U.S. tax informationreporting rules applicable to U.S. Persons and nonU.S.Persons
Basic understanding and working knowledge of IRSForms W9 and W8 and their associated requirements
Excellent communication skills to drive engagement and closeinteractions with key stakeholders. Provide basic advisory servicesprimarily for internal clients
Well versed in standarddesktop technology with advanced Excel skills.
Two tothree years experience in an operations Tax/asset servicingenvironment.
Background understanding of CRS andFATCA
Ability to interact confidently with otherdivisions at all levels
Proactive and questioningnature
Strong Microsoft Office skills

Qualifications:

Good standard ofhigh school education.
Practical experience in anoperations environment.
