The Payroll Officer will provide a range of transactional, administrative, financial and reporting functions within the payroll team and is accountable for the accurate and timely processing of payroll in accordance with the employment legislative framework, as well as all company policies and procedures.
The suitable candidate will ideally have experience in using Workday and have run payrolls of a minimum of 600 employees.

Key Responsibilities:
Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviours in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture
Maintaining payroll master data.
Processing of monthly payrolls.
Updating and maintaining payroll records.
Liaising with staff and management regarding payroll-related queries.
Undertaking required reporting, both internal and statutory.
Setting up new starters.
Calculation and processing of termination payments.
Processing increases and calculating back pays.
Assisting with month-end consolidation.
Finalising monthly payroll taxes and preparation of Payroll withholding tax quarterly returns and annual return
Annual Reconciliation of CTC with actual amount paid to each employee.
Issuance of Form 16, Form 12BA and assisting Employees in filing Tax returns through third party consultant.
Employees Provident Fund monthly payments and filing of monthly returns
Employees Provident Fund annual returns and liaising with RPFC office for PF transfers / withdrawals, inspections and audits.
Liaising with statutory auditors / internal auditors for payroll related queries.
Reconciling payroll / headcount with SAP cost centres, Workday and related GL accounts.
Calculating leave provisions/accruals.
Preparation of payroll data for actuarial valuation of gratuity and leave salary
Company bonus / sales incentives computation and payment as per Group / Divisional guidelines.
Compliance to external legislation as well as internal finance & HR policies and procedures.
Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:
Minimum of four years of experience in a similar payroll position, working with a payroll of at least 600 employees.
Experience with a Time and Attendance system with 24/7 rostering.
Experience in the use of Workday and Cognos is desirable, but not essential.
Good understanding of payroll legislation and required processes.
Ability to work well under pressure and meet conflicting deadlines.
