We are now expanding our outbound sales team and looking for someone ambitious to join us in growing and expanding our reach.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Field Sales Engineer with a strong technical background and a passion for sales to join our company in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. This is an opportunity for mechanical engineers who enjoy engaging with customers, understanding their technical needs, and supplying our range of products to fit their needs. You will be client facing and out on field meeting new companies as well as engaging with existing customers and explaining our product range and diverse catalog.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Expertise: Understand and communicate the technical features, functionalities, and benefits of our products and solutions.
  • Customer Engagement: Identify, meet, and engage with potential and existing customers to assess their requirements and propose suitable solutions.
  • Sales Support: Collaborate with the sales team to develop quotations, proforma invoices, and proposals to help secure orders.
  • Relationship Building: Build and maintain long-term customer relationships by delivering excellent pre- and post-sales support.
  • Client Visits: Conduct regular client visits to sites and offices to understand and discuss their requirements for tools and machinery.
  • Technical Resource: Act as a primary technical contact for clients, providing in-depth product information, troubleshooting assistance, and solution recommendations.
  • Market Insights: Share active feedback and market intelligence with the sales team and management to refine strategies.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 2+ years of experience as a sales engineer or in a similar technical sales role.
  • Mandatory: Prior experience working with a distributor or trading business (industrial tools, machinery, or similar products).
  • Strong understanding of industrial tools, machinery, or hardware products and applications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset and technical aptitude.
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Open to relocation and working overseas (Tanzania, East Africa).
