Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and proactive
SCVMM Administrator / Virtualization Engineer
to join our IT infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the administration, configuration, and support of our System Center Virtual Machine Manager (SCVMM) environment, ensuring high availability and performance of virtualized systems across on-premises and hybrid cloud infrastructures.

Key Responsibilities

• Centralized Management: Administer multiple Hyper-V hosts and clusters via the SCVMM console, streamlining operations and ensuring consistent configuration standards.
• Resource Pool Management: Design, configure, and manage pools of virtual machines, hosts, and associated storage resources to optimize capacity and performance.
• Networking Provisioning: Create and maintain logical switches, IP subnets, MAC address pools, and VLANs for seamless virtual network provisioning and isolation.
• Storage Management: Discover, classify, and allocate storage resources, ensuring efficient use of local and remote storage across the environment.
• VM Lifecycle Management: Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of virtual machines, including provisioning, configuration, monitoring, and decommissioning.
• Hybrid Cloud Management: Utilize Azure Arc-enabled SCVMM to manage on-premises virtual machines in alignment with Azure governance and policy structures.
• Automation & Self-Service: Implement automation workflows and self-service portals to empower development and application teams with on-demand VM provisioning.
• Resource Discovery & Integration: Identify and onboard existing SCVMM-managed resources to ensure unified visibility and control via a single management pane.
• Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Proactively monitor the health of virtualization infrastructure and resolve issues related to performance, availability, and resource conflicts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 4+ years of hands-on experience with SCVMM, Hyper-V, and Windows Server virtualization.
• Strong understanding of networking concepts including VLANs, IP management, and virtual switches.
• Experience with Azure Arc, hybrid cloud environments, and integration with Microsoft Azure services.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation using PowerShell or other related tools.
• Knowledge of storage technologies (SAN, NAS, DAS) and best practices in resource allocation.
• Familiarity with ITIL practices and change management in enterprise environments is a plus.

Preferred Certifications

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
• Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate
• MCSA or MCSE in Cloud Platform and Infrastructure
