Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Sales and Marketing to lead our sales and marketing teams in driving the growth and success of our organic food company. With a focus on innovation, sustainability, and market expansion, this senior leadership position is responsible for developing and executing strategic initiatives to increase brand visibility, market share, and revenue. The ideal candidate will bring 20+ years of experience in sales and marketing, with a proven track record in the organic food industries.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy & Leadership:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to increase market share and revenue across both traditional retail and e-commerce channels.
- Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing sales team, providing guidance and training to ensure the team's success.
- Set and track sales goals, reporting on performance and adjusting strategies as needed to meet targets.
E-commerce Growth:
- Oversee the company's e-commerce operations, optimizing online sales channels such as B2B platforms, D2C (Direct to Consumer) websites, Amazon, and other online marketplaces.
- Drive digital marketing and promotional campaigns to boost online sales and customer engagement.
- Work closely with the marketing and digital teams to align e-commerce and sales strategies, ensuring an integrated approach.
Retail & Distribution Partnerships:
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with key retail partners, distributors, and wholesalers, ensuring strong distribution of organic products.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and promotional opportunities with key partners, driving growth in both online and offline markets.
- Monitor industry trends and competitor activities, adapting sales strategies accordingly.
Market Expansion:
- Identify new sales opportunities in emerging markets, both domestically and internationally, to expand the brand's footprint.
- Work with the product and marketing teams to tailor sales strategies for new product launches or market entry.
Customer Insights & Analytics:
- Analyze sales data, customer feedback, and market trends to derive actionable insights that inform sales strategies.
- Use CRM and sales analytics tools to track customer behaviors and optimize the sales pipeline.
Team Development & Performance Management:
- Hire, train, and retain top sales talent, fostering a collaborative, goal-oriented sales culture.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide coaching and feedback to the sales team.
Required Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum 20 years of sales experience, with at least 5 years in leadership roles within the organic food industry
E-commerce Expertise: Strong experience managing e-commerce platforms (Amazon, direct-to-consumer websites, etc.) with a solid understanding of digital marketing strategies, online sales funnels, and customer experience optimization.
Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of organic food products, consumer behavior, and the retail landscape.
Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and motivate a diverse team, with a hands-on, results-driven approach.
