Job Title: Junior QC Engineer (Civil Construction)

Department: Quality Control

Reporting To: Project Manager

Location: Coimbatore

Job Summary:

The Junior QC Engineer (Civil) assists in implementing and monitoring quality control procedures at the construction site to ensure that all civil works comply with approved drawings, specifications, and standards. The role involves inspecting materials, workmanship, and site activities to maintain project quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quality Inspection & Monitoring
  • Conduct daily inspections of civil works such as concrete, reinforcement, formwork, masonry, plastering, and finishing activities.
  • Ensure work is executed as per approved drawings, method statements, and project specifications.
  • Verify material quality and check test certificates before use.
  • Testing & Documentation
  • Coordinate field and laboratory tests for concrete, soil, aggregates, and other construction materials.
  • Maintain records of test results, inspection reports, and non-conformance reports (NCRs).
  • Prepare daily QC reports and submit them to the Senior QC Engineer.
  • Compliance & Coordination
  • Ensure compliance with project quality plans, codes, and standards (IS Codes / ASTM / BS).
  • Assist in the implementation of Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Coordinate with site engineers, subcontractors, and consultants regarding inspection requests (IR) and quality issues.
  • Non-Conformance & Corrective Actions
  • Identify and report non-conformities in workmanship or materials.
  • Assist in corrective and preventive actions to eliminate quality issues.
  • Material Approval & Control
  • Support material approval process through submittals and samples.
  • Ensure proper storage and handling of materials at the site.
  • Safety & Housekeeping
  • Ensure that all site activities adhere to safety and quality standards.
  • Promote good housekeeping and proper handling of equipment.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering
  • Experience: 0–2 years of experience in quality control at civil construction sites
  • Technical Skills:
  • Knowledge of civil materials testing
  • Understanding of construction drawings and QA/QC documentation
  • Familiar with IS codes and construction standards
  • Soft Skills:
  • Good observation and reporting skills
  • Team coordination and communication
  • Detail-oriented and proactive attitude

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Quality compliance rate of site works
  • Number of NCRs raised and resolved
  • Timeliness of inspection reports
  • Adherence to QMS and documentation accuracy

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Fresher

Pay: ₹25, ₹30,000.00 per month
