Job Summary:
We are looking for a highly motivated Sales Manager to oversee the growth and expansion of our Pump and System Division. This role is specifically focused on driving sales for industrial pumps, pumping systems, and related products, catering to sectors like oil and gas, chemicals, water treatment, food processing, and pharmaceuticals. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge of pumps and systems, alongside proven sales experience in the industrial equipment sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales Strategy Development & Execution:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to promote the company's pump and system solutions in target markets (e.g., oil & gas, chemical processing, water treatment, and others).
- Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitor activity to identify business opportunities.
- Set clear, achievable sales targets, and ensure the team's focus is aligned with overall company objectives.
- Business Development:
- Identify and approach potential clients for industrial pumps and systems (e.g., centrifugal pumps, diaphragm pumps, positive displacement pumps).
- Generate new business opportunities and convert leads into active, long-term clients.
- Conduct technical sales meetings, product presentations, and proposal submissions to key decision-makers.
- Negotiate contracts and close sales to achieve revenue goals and maintain profitability.
- Customer Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients, distributors, and channel partners.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all pump-related inquiries, technical support, and service requests.
- Collaborate with the engineering and technical teams to provide customized solutions to meet client-specific requirements.
- Product and Market Expertise:
- Maintain a deep understanding of product specifications, applications, and the latest advancements in pump technologies.
- Act as a product expert during client interactions, helping them understand the technical benefits and value proposition of the solutions offered.
- Stay updated on industry regulations, standards, and technological advancements relevant to pumps and systems.
- Team Leadership and Training:
- Lead, motivate, and manage a sales team (if applicable) focused on pumps and systems, setting performance expectations and providing guidance.
- Conduct training sessions for the sales team to enhance their product knowledge and sales techniques specific to industrial pumps.
- Provide mentorship and coaching to ensure the team meets or exceeds sales goals and is consistently improving their sales approach.
- Sales Reporting and Forecasting:
- Monitor sales performance metrics, analyze sales data, and prepare regular reports to senior management.
- Develop accurate sales forecasts based on market research, past sales trends, and pipeline activities.
- Track progress towards annual sales targets and adjust strategies as needed to achieve objectives.
- Project Coordination:
- Work closely with the engineering and project management teams to ensure that all client specifications are met, and project timelines are adhered to.
- Oversee the post-sale process, ensuring smooth handover to the technical and service teams for installation and maintenance of pumping systems.
- Resolve any client concerns or issues promptly, ensuring full customer satisfaction throughout the sales and delivery process.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Process Engineering, or a related technical field (MBA in Sales/Marketing is a plus).
- Experience: Minimum 8-10 years of experience in sales or business development within the industrial pumps and systems sector (experience with specific pump types like centrifugal, diaphragm, screw, or piston pumps is preferred).
- Technical Expertise: Strong technical background in pumps, systems, and fluid dynamics, with the ability to interpret complex technical specifications and provide solutions.
- Sales Experience: Proven track record of driving sales growth in the industrial equipment or pump manufacturing sectors, with experience in large-scale projects and B2B sales.
- Market Knowledge: In-depth understanding of pump applications across industries such as oil & gas, chemicals, water treatment, and manufacturing.
- Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation and closing skills, with the ability to manage long sales cycles and complex deal structures.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- CRM Proficiency: Experience with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) to manage leads, track sales activities, and generate reports.
- Travel: Willingness to travel frequently to client sites, industry events, and meetings.
