Key duties include collaborating with design and production teams, ensuring compliance with standards, troubleshooting welding issues, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. Core responsibilities

  • Process development and improvement: Develop and implement new welding techniques, procedures, and standards, while continuously monitoring and improving existing processes for efficiency and quality.
  • Quality assurance: Ensure welding processes and finished products meet quality standards, industry regulations, and customer requirements through inspections, tests, and audits.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with design engineers to verify designs for manufacturability and production engineers to troubleshoot technical issues and support operations.
  • Troubleshooting: Analyze and solve welding-related problems that arise during production to maintain a continuous workflow.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation, including welding procedures, test results, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Training and support: Train production personnel on new processes and equipment and provide direct technical support for machinery and welding equipment.
  • Technology and equipment: Stay updated on the latest welding technologies, and may be involved in specifying and procuring new equipment to meet production and quality needs.

Key qualifications

  • Education: Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, particularly in Welding, Mechanical, or a related field.
  • Experience: Experience in a production environment, with a focus on welding processes and automotive manufacturing.
  • Skills: Expertise in welding techniques, knowledge of industry standards, strong problem-solving abilities, and familiarity with CAD and welding simulation software can be beneficial.
