Role Overview – Business Development Manager (India)

We are looking for an entrepreneurial Business Development Manager to spearhead SAORI India's growth and expansion across the country.

This is not just another sales role — it's an opportunity to build the foundation of SAORI's India business and lead a purpose-driven movement in the beauty industry.

As our Business Development Manager, you'll serve as chief market strategist, brand evangelist, and growth driver, responsible for partnerships, revenue, and brand presence nationwide.

You'll work directly with the founding leadership to shape the India roadmap — turning SAORI India into the most trusted name in premium human hair extensions and beauty empowerment.

Key Responsibilities

Market Expansion & Strategy:

  • Develop and execute SAORI India's national growth strategy — identifying high-potential markets, channels, and partnership opportunities.
  • Lead entry into new regions and platforms (offline salons, distributors, e-commerce) and drive market share growth.
  • Craft local strategies that align with SAORI's global brand narrative while adapting to Indian beauty and retail trends.

Partnership Development:

  • Build strong relationships with salons, stylists, influencers, and distributors.
  • Bring India's top hairstylists and boutique salon owners into the SAORI partner network — as ambassadors, collaborators, or franchise stockiest.
  • Develop alliances with beauty schools, luxury retailers, and e-commerce partners to expand distribution and visibility.

Sales & Revenue Leadership:

  • Own sales performance for India, across both B2B (salons/distributors) and B2C (direct-to-consumer) channels.
  • Design and implement creative sales initiatives — pop-ups, stylist programs, trunk shows, and local events.
  • Consistently meet and exceed sales KPIs and revenue goals while building long-term brand equity.

Team & People Leadership:

  • Build and mentor a small but high-performing cross-functional team (e.g. account managers, promoters, city leads).
  • Foster a culture of empowerment, collaboration, and customer-centricity aligned with SAORI's values.
  • Lead by example — inspiring a team of go-getters who see themselves as builders, not just employees.

Brand Advocacy & Cultural Leadership:

  • Represent SAORI India in the beauty ecosystem — at industry events, exhibitions, and empowerment workshops.
  • Drive community engagement initiatives such as "SAORI Empowerment" salons or stylist mentorship programs.
  • Embody and communicate SAORI's mission of authenticity, confidence, and heritage in every interaction.

Data & Reporting:

  • Track performance metrics, customer insights, and market trends to inform strategy.
  • Provide regular reports and recommendations to the leadership team.
  • Use data and intuition to refine pricing, positioning, and regional priorities.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Experience: 5+ years in business development, partnerships, or sales — ideally in beauty, fashion, luxury, or D2C consumer brands.
  • Entrepreneurial Drive: Proven ability to build markets or brands from the ground up; startup or early-stage experience a major plus.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong communication, negotiation, and people management capabilities.
  • Market Insight: Deep understanding of the Indian beauty market, consumer behavior, and salon ecosystems.
  • Cultural Fluency: Fluent in English and Hindi; knowledge of regional languages is a bonus. Experience collaborating across time zones or global teams is a plus.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field. MBA or postgraduate qualification is welcome but not essential.
