Job Title: PostgreSQL Administrator

Location: TechM, Mumbai, Chandivali

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled PostgreSQL Administrator to join our Infrastructure Management team. The ideal candidate will have 2 5 years of hands on experience in PostgreSQL administration, ensuring the performance, security, and reliability of our database systems. This role is critical in supporting our infrastructure and will involve collaboration with various teams to optimize database performance and implement best practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer and maintain PostgreSQL databases, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Monitor database performance and implement tuning and optimization strategies.
  • Perform regular database backups, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Implement security measures to safeguard sensitive data and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Collaborate with development teams to design and optimize database schemas and queries.
  • Assist in capacity planning and database scaling to meet business needs.
  • Document database configurations, processes, and procedures for future reference.
  • Stay updated with the latest PostgreSQL features and best practices.

Mandatory Skills:

  • Proven experience in PostgreSQL administration (2 5 years).
  • Strong understanding of database architecture, design, and performance tuning.
  • Experience with backup and recovery strategies in PostgreSQL.
  • Knowledge of SQL and PL/pgSQL programming.
  • Familiarity with database security practices and compliance standards.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve database issues effectively.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with cloud based PostgreSQL solutions (e.g., AWS RDS, Google Cloud SQL).
  • Knowledge of other database systems (e.g., MySQL, Oracle) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with database monitoring tools and performance analysis.
  • Experience with automation tools for database management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications in PostgreSQL or database management are a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
