PostgreSQL Administration

  • Assist in installation and basic configuration of PostgreSQL databases under guidance of senior DBAs.
  • Perform routine administration tasks such as user management, role assignments, schema creation, and permission handling.
  • Support backup and restore operations using tools like pg_dump, pg_restore, and pg_basebackup.
  • Monitor database health, logs, storage utilization, and connections through monitoring tools.
  • Perform initial troubleshooting of incidents and escalate performance-related or complex issues to L2/L3 teams.
  • Apply standard security policies including user access control and password management.
  • Participate in scheduled maintenance activities and assist with database housekeeping tasks.
  • Maintain documentation of incidents, changes, and operating procedures for knowledge sharing and consistency.
