Key Responsibilities

  • Administer, maintain, and optimize PostgreSQL databases (minimum 2 years of hands-on experience).
  • Manage and monitor Cassandra databases for distributed and high-availability applications.
  • Automate routine tasks using Bash scripting or other relevant tools.
  • Deploy and manage database environments on Kubernetes clusters.
  • Implement and maintain backup, recovery, and security procedures.
  • Monitor database performance and troubleshoot performance issues.
  • Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to design scalable database solutions.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Database Administrator across various database platforms.
  • At least 2 years of hands-on PostgreSQL administration experience.
  • Proven expertise in PostgreSQL performance tuning, replication, and HA solutions.
  • Proficiency in Bash scripting for automation.
  • Working knowledge of Kubernetes and containerized environments.
  • Familiarity with Apache Cassandra architecture and operations.
  • Strong SQL skills and query optimization experience.
  • Experience with backup/recovery tools (pg_dump, pg_basebackup, WAL archiving).
  • Hands-on with monitoring and alerting tools.
  • Strong understanding of Linux/Unix systems.
