DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR (SENIOR)

Position Summary

The Senior Database Administrator is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of database systems. This role ensures data integrity, security, and high availability while providing guidance to junior DBAs and supporting critical business applications.

What You Will Do

  • Design, implement, and maintain database systems to meet business needs.
  • Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize queries and storage.
  • Ensure database security, backup, and recovery procedures are in place.
  • Collaborate with IT and business teams to support application requirements.
  • Develop and enforce database standards, policies, and best practices.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior database administrators.
  • Participate in database upgrades, migrations, and integration projects.

To Be Successful You Will Have

  • Proven experience as a Database Administrator or in a similar senior role.
  • Strong knowledge of database systems, architecture, and performance tuning.
  • Experience with backup, recovery, and security best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Experience with cloud databases, SQL/NoSQL databases, and database automation tools.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Oracle DBA, Microsoft SQL Server, AWS Database Specialty).
  • Familiarity with ITIL or other IT service management frameworks.
