Database Administrator

We are seeking an experienced SQL Server Database Administrator with strong expertise in high availability, performance tuning, automation, and BI stack components. The ideal candidate should possess deep hands-on knowledge of SQL Server , SSIS/SSAS/SSRS, and monitoring tools, along with a solid understanding of PostgreSQL L1/L2 activities.

Key Responsibilities

• High Availability & Disaster Recovery

• Strong hands-on experience with SQL Server Failover Clustering and Always-On Availability Groups (2016 to 2022).

• Manage, monitor, and troubleshoot HA/DR configurations and failover operations.

• Database Administration & Tools

• Proficient in SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), SQL Server Profiler, SQL Server Agent, and DBCC commands.

• Detect and resolve database-related issues including SQL Server engine problems, job scheduling failures, alerts, automation tasks, and Database Mail configurations.

• Perform database backup, restore, recovery operations, and maintain capacity monitoring across CPU, memory, I/O, disk space, and other contention areas.

• Performance Optimization

• Act as a deep-core SQL performance troubleshooting expert.

• Optimize database structures, indexing strategies, and statistics updates.

• Perform regular performance monitoring, identify bottlenecks, and implement tuning solutions for high-volume production environments.

• SQL Development

• Strong expertise in MS SQL Server development including stored procedures, views, functions, triggers, and query tuning.

• Collaborate with development teams for performance-oriented coding best practices.

• Microsoft BI Stack

• Must have experience working with SSIS, SSAS, and SSRS packages.

• Deep understanding of pre-built SSIS packages and ability to troubleshoot and optimize them.

• Monitoring & Automation

• Expert knowledge of Idera SQL Diagnostic Manager, its full feature set, and configuration based on customer requirements.

• Hands-on experience using PowerShell for SQL Server automation, customization, and operational improvement.

• Additional Skills

• Basic to intermediate (L1/L2) understanding of PostgreSQL databases, including routine administrative tasks and troubleshooting.

Required Skill Set

• 8+ years of proven SQL Server DBA experience.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure on critical production issues.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Good hands-on experience with SQL Server High Availability solutions including Failover Clustering and Always-On Availability Groups (2016 to 2022).
• Strong experience with SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), SQL Server Profiler, SQL Server Agent, and DBCC commands.

• Experience in performance monitoring, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing optimization measures.
• Strong understanding of pre-built SSIS packages and ability to troubleshoot and improve them.
• Deep knowledge of Idera SQL Diagnostic Manager, including full feature usage and configuration based on customer requirements.
• Knowledge of PowerShell scripting for SQL Server automation and custom improvements.

• Understanding of PostgreSQL L1 and L2 level administrative and troubleshooting activities.
