Role & responsibilities

Procurement:
• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for raw materials, engineering goods, services, and capital equipment.


• Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable suppliers to ensure uninterrupted supply at optimal cost.
• Lead negotiations on price, delivery terms, and contracts while maintaining quality and compliance.


• Ensure procurement activities are aligned with production and maintenance schedules.


• Maintain updated records of purchases, pricing, and delivery timelines in ERP systems (e.g., SAP/Oracle).
• Monitor market trends and price movements to plan procurement and minimize cost impacts. Stores Management:


• Supervise and optimize inventory management, including receiving, storage, and issue of materials.


• Ensure implementation of proper material handling, stacking, and preservation techniques.
• Oversee periodic physical stock verification and reconciliation with system records.
• Maintain minimum and maximum stock levels to avoid stock-outs or overstocking.


• Coordinate with production, maintenance, and project teams for material planning and forecasting.
• Ensure proper documentation, coding, and tagging of inventory as per standard norms. Compliance & Process Improvement:


• Ensure all procurement and stores activities comply with internal controls, audit requirements, and statutory regulations (e.g., GST, import/export laws).
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives in procurement and stores processes.


• Develop and enforce SOPs and KPIs for procurement and inventory operations.


• Train and mentor team members to enhance productivity and ensure adherence to best practices. Cross-functional Coordination:


• Collaborate closely with Production, Maintenance, Finance, Quality, and Project teams.
• Provide regular MIS reports on procurement performance, inventory status, and cost-saving initiatives to SCM HOD.

Preferred candidate profile

Bachelors degree in Engineering / Supply Chain / Commerce.
•

Postgraduate diploma or MBA in Supply Chain / Materials Management preferred.
•

Certification in procurement or logistics (e.g., CSCP, CPM) is an added advantage.
