•Performs specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.

• Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.

• Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.

• Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignements.

• Identifies discrepancies in results.

• Provides guidance to entry level engineers.

• Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision.

• Independently performs all the tasks necessary to complete primary design

elements for engineering works. 

• Performance at this level requires developmental experience in a professional position.

Essential Criteria -

Education:

(1) Civil Engineering / BSc in Sociology or Environment /Environmental Engineering or equivalent,

(2) Additional Desirable Qualification -

Post Graduation in Environmental/Sociology/ Environmental Science or Environment Management or equivalent.

Experience:

(3) Professional Experience in Social & Environment Engineering fields: Aggregate minimum 15 years of professional experience in Bridge/Highway Construction Projects.

(4) Experience in Similar Capacity* in major Bridge projects either Cable stayed or Cable suspension or Extradosed or pre-stressed bridge of 2/4/6 lane for highway/expressway/rail cum road bridge.

(5) Experience in Similar Capacity* in Road and Bridge Safety Audits of Minimum 2 Bridge Projects either Cable stayed or Cable suspension or Extradosed or pre-stressed bridge of 2/4/6 lane for highway/expressway/rail cum road bridge on Design, Engineering, Procurement Supply And Construction basis.

(6) Experience in Similar Capacity* in identification and improvement of Social & Environment issues in at least 2 Highway / Bridge Projects,

(7) Experience in Similar Capacity* of preparation of Social & Environment Management Plans for Construction of major Bridge/Highway Projects,

(8) Experience in Similar Capacity* in field of Social & Environment Management Plans in Bridge projects funded by Multilateral/ Bilateral Funding Agency(ies), Minimum 1 project.

(9) Age: Not more than 60 years.

Note: Similar Capacity includes the following positions:

i) On behalf of Consultant: Environmental / Social & Environmental/ Resident Engineer / Team Leader (Construction Supervision/ IE/ AE),

ii) On behalf of Contractor: Project Director/ Project Manager (Construction/ Construction Supervision).

iii) In Government Organizations: Superintending Engineer (or equivalent) and above.
