Mechanical Engineer
Job Summary:
The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the design, maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of mechanical systems and equipment used in pharmaceutical manufacturing. This includes granulation, compression, coating, packaging, HVAC, and utility systems. The role ensures equipment reliability, regulatory compliance, and supports validation and qualification activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of mechanical equipment (e.g., granulators, tablet presses, coaters, blenders, HVAC systems).
- Support installation and commissioning of new equipment and facility expansions.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues and implement root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Production, QA, Validation, Projects) to support manufacturing operations.
- Ensure compliance with cGMP, safety, and environmental standards.
- Prepare and maintain documentation such as SOPs, maintenance logs, and equipment qualification reports.
- Participate in equipment validation, calibration, and performance qualification activities.
- Support energy efficiency and cost-saving initiatives through process optimization.
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors for equipment servicing and upgrades.
