Job Summary

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing statutory compliance related to
TDS and GST
, ensuring accurate calculation, timely payment, and filing of returns. The role also involves reconciliation of accounts, maintaining statutory records, and supporting internal and external audits.

Key Responsibilities

  1. TDS Compliance

  2. Calculate TDS on applicable payments as per Income Tax Act.

  3. Ensure timely deposit of TDS to the government.
  4. Prepare and file quarterly TDS returns (Form 24Q, 26Q, etc.).
  5. Issue TDS certificates (Form 16, 16A) to vendors and employees.

  6. Handle notices and queries from the Income Tax Department.

  7. GST Compliance

  8. Calculate GST liability on sales and purchases accurately.

  9. Reconcile GST input tax credit with GSTR-2B.
  10. Prepare and file monthly/quarterly GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B).
  11. Manage GST annual return (GSTR-9) and reconciliation statements.

  12. Address GST-related queries, notices, and assessments.

  13. Accounting & Reconciliation

  14. Ensure all tax-related entries are accurately recorded in the accounting system.

  15. Maintain proper documentation for all tax-related transactions.
  16. Reconcile vendor/customer accounts for TDS & GST differences.

  17. Assist in preparation of financial statements as per statutory requirements.

  18. Audit & Compliance

  19. Support statutory, tax, and internal audits by providing necessary data.

  20. Ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations.
  21. Stay updated with changes in tax laws and implement required changes.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Commerce, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum
    7–8 years
    of experience in accounting and taxation (TDS, GST).
  • Strong knowledge of
    Income Tax Act
    and
    GST laws
    .
  • Hands-on experience with
    Tally.
  • Proficient in
    MS Excel
    for data management and reconciliations.
  • Attention to detail, analytical mindset, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Preferred

  • Experience in handling tax department notices and assessments.
  • Knowledge of e-filing portals for TDS and GST.
  • Familiarity with other statutory compliances (PF, ESIC, PT) will be an added advantage.
