Enterprise Infrastructure Services (EIS): is responsible for managing all infrastructure components globally, supporting business delivery projects and delivering TIS projects.

Infrastructure related to Platforms - UNIX, Windows, Storage & Backup, Virtualisation, Middleware.

About your role

The role is responsible for delivering core Unix engineering, development & support, working within the global unix support, projects & engineering team. This role will be focused on operational support, engineering and delivering a cloud-based platform and working towards a target operating model to support a product owner methodology.

You will also require collaborative engagement with other platform engineering functions to ensure the business receives a consistently high service level from Technology Infrastructure Services as a whole.

The candidate will participate and be involved in all aspects of Platform support with opportunities to be involved in development & supporting fidelity project work.

As this role supports a global team there may be a requirement to work within a UK shift pattern also.

About you

Experience and Qualifications Required for the role have been listed below.

A Bachelor degree and Industry experience is mandatory

  • Excellent Ansible skills
  • Good awareness of CI/CD practices and can work in a DevOps manner
  • Shell/Perl/Python scripting
  • Excellent RHEL Linux skills essential, AIX beneficial
  • Ability to script and automate unix builds and preparing code for applications
  • Integration with other core infrastructure technologies & awareness of infrastructure technologies
  • Familiarity with Identity and security and access management
  • Installation and maintenance of new servers and 3rd party software

  • System performance reporting, and enhancement

  • Experience of working in a highly virtualised environment

  • Able to collaborate across technical teams

  • Technical awareness of future products, concepts and standards
  • Evaluation and recommendation of new products and technologies
  • Disaster recovery and contingency planning
  • Systems performance analysis and management
