Role & responsibilities

Design and Development:

  • We are seeking someone who has worked with a well-known designer, is an expert in Indian designs, and has independently collaborated with designers recognized for Indian fashion and who are renowned in the market.
  • The ideal candidate should have strong professional connections and maintain good relationships with leading designers in the Indian fashion industry, fostering collaboration and innovation.
  • This candidate must possess strong market awareness and understanding of consumer and industry trends, enabling successful positioning and sales of their designs.
  • Create innovative Men's & Women's wear designs, including apparel and accessories that align with brand aesthetics and market trends.
  • Develop technical specifications, sketches, and prototypes for new products.

Trend Research:

  • Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, materials, and technologies in Luxury RTW.
  • Analyze competitor products and consumer preferences to inform design decisions.
  • Stay updated on advancements in fabric technology, sustainable materials, and production techniques.

Material Selection:

  • Select appropriate fabrics, trims, and accessories that enhance the performance, durability, and style of the products.
  • Work with suppliers to source high-quality, innovative materials that meet design and functional requirements.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, and production, to ensure alignment on design vision and product goals.
  • Present design concepts and collections to internal stakeholders and incorporate feedback into final designs.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication, attention to detail with merchandising & factory teams to ensure product execution and meeting the quality as expected.

Technical Design:

  • Develop detailed technical drawings and specifications for each design.
  • Ensure that all designs meet the brand's aesthetic, fit, function, and quality standards.
  • Oversee sample development, fittings, and revisions to ensure that the final product meets design intent.

Skill Requirement

  • Good knowledge of fabric material, design details and fabric construction
  • Produce sketches, mock-ups, and digital renderings to bring design concepts to life
  • Understanding of application of fabrications and an assortment of trims
  • Collaborate with internal teams to Design innovative and on-trend apparels and accessories goods that resonate with our target audience

Team Management

  • Monitor and manage timelines / Calendar & Presentation schedules
  • Monitor smooth interdepartmental communication
  • Motivate and monitor Junior Designers progress and growth.

Minimum candidate qualifications

  • Degree in Fashion Design, Min work experience in Indian Designer Brand for 8-10 years.
  • Strong understanding of pattern making, Indian embroidery and various printing techniques.
  • 8- 10 years of experience in Indian Designer Label (Both Men's & Women's wear)
  • Ability to interpret fashion trends and translate them into commercial designs.
  • Sound knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator a must
  • Experience in CLO 3D and V Stitches will be added advantage
  • Advanced visual and written communication skills
