Job Description: Senior Accountant for Transportation Company

Position Overview: As a Senior Accountant for the Transportation Company, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the financial activities of the organization. Your role will involve ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, maintaining financial records, and providing valuable insights to support strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate for this position should have significant experience in accounting and finance, strong analytical skills, and a solid understanding of the transportation industry.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting and Analysis:

• Prepare and review financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
• Analyze financial data and performance indicators to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
• Present financial reports to management and stakeholders, providing insights and recommendations.

General Accounting:

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities.
• Ensure timely and accurate recording of financial transactions and reconciliations.
• Monitor and maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

• Collaborate with management to develop annual budgets and financial forecasts.
• Monitor budget performance, identify deviations, and recommend corrective actions.

Cost Control and Analysis:

• Track and analyze transportation-related costs, such as fuel expenses, maintenance costs, and vehicle expenses.
• Provide cost reports and analysis to support cost control initiatives and efficiency improvements.

Tax Compliance and Reporting:

• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and oversee the preparation and filing of tax returns.
• Work with external tax advisors to address tax-related matters and optimize tax strategies.

Financial Compliance:

• Ensure adherence to accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Collaborate with auditors during the annual financial audits.

Financial Systems and Process Improvement:

• Evaluate and enhance financial systems, processes, and procedures to increase efficiency and accuracy.
• Implement best practices in accounting and finance.

Team Management and Development:

• Supervise and support junior accounting staff, providing guidance and training as needed.
• Foster a positive and collaborative work environment within the accounting team.

Vendor Management:

• Liaise with vendors, suppliers, and service providers regarding financial matters, such as payments and billing.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., CPA) is a plus.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a senior accounting role, preferably within the transportation or logistics industry.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and analysis.
• Proficiency in using accounting software and ERP systems.
• Advanced Excel skills for financial modeling and data analysis.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial records.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret and present financial data effectively.
• Strong organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• Knowledge of transportation industry-specific accounting practices and regulations is advantageous.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹30, ₹50,000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Hyderabad, Telangana: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
