Please note: This is not a Remote role and will require the incumbent to be based in Gurugram, India where the person is hired and work a hybrid schedule. This is a People Leader/ Manager role.
The Senior Director of Tax is a pivotal role in driving tax strategy and overseeing all direct and indirect tax matters within the organization. As a leader, you will spearhead initiatives related to tax compliance, planning and reporting, aimed at optimizing financial performance while ensuring adherence to relevant laws and regulations. If you possess extensive experience in tax-related functions and leadership within a dynamic business environment, you are the ideal candidate to navigate complex responsibilities and contribute to our long-standing legacy of financial prudence and integrity.
What You'll Do for Us
Develop and implement tax strategies that align with the company's financial plans and policies
Oversee tax compliance, ensuring accurate and timely filing of all required tax returns and reports, maintaining adherence to applicable laws and regulations.
Conduct in-depth tax research and interpret changes in tax legislation to optimize tax structures and provide strategic planning insights.
Manage various tax controversy matters, from audit inquires to litigations.
Lead consultations with external consultants, tax agencies, and legal advisors to ensure best practices in all tax-related matters.
Assume responsibility for the tax accounting process, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of reported figures.
Drive the execution of operational plans based on established strategies and maintain oversight of projects.
Monitor legislative changes in tax laws under Income Tax Act, Goods & Services Tax (GST), State Excise Duty and Customs regulations.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide tax advice and support to business initiatives, tax advocacy and projects.
Lead and develop a team of tax professionals by providing coaching and guidance to foster growth and expertise.
Requirement & Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Chartered Accountant, Master's degree in Taxation, or an equivalent advanced qualification is preferred.
Minimum of 15 years of relevant professional experience in tax, with a comprehensive understanding of international tax laws and regulations.
Demonstrated strategic leadership in developing and implementing successful tax strategies within a large, complex global organization.
In-depth knowledge of corporate Income-tax, GST, State Excise and Customs rules and regulations.
Proven analytical skills, attention to detail, and capability to lead a disciplined tax team.
Strong project management capabilities, with a track record of delivering on plans and allocating resources efficiently.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with proficiency in engaging effectively with senior management, regulatory authorities and external partners.
