Purpose of The Role

The Commercial Manager is responsible for developing and implementing the commercial strategy, ensuring compliance and alignment with the overall business objectives. This role is instrumental in building and strengthening key relations, managing contracts and budgets, evaluating commercial negotiations, and working cross-functionally to operational efficiency and support strategic growth initiatives. 

Job Accountabilities

  • Evaluate and negotiate contracts to ensure favourable terms and compliance
  • Identify new commercial opportunities to drive cost efficiencies and create value for business
  • Manage contractual obligations, analyse commercial risks and devise mitigation plans
  • Assess and ensure delivery of goods and services as per contracted terms
  • Maintain and update contract database to ensure timely amendments and renewals
  • Develop tiered based vendor database (L1, L2, L3) and identify potential new suppliers/vendors
  • Manage contractual relations including onboarding, performance evaluation and issue resolution, if any
  • Build and strengthen key relations to support business growth and bring operational efficiencies
  • Optimise sourcing strategies ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness that meet business requirements
  • Create Purchase Orders (PO) and ensure timely submission for payments
  • Ensure all commercial activities align to internal processes, governance and regulatory requirements
  • Drive process improvements and standardization across commercial function
  • Manage and monitor budgets, track expenditures and analyse cost
  • Prepare and present reports to key stakeholders to enable them to make strategic decisions
  • Work cross-functionally and align the commercial activities with overall business goals
  • Analyse internal data and market trends to enhance commercial strategies for the business

Education Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Management/ Business/ Finance
  • MBA preferred

Experience

  • 8+ experience for a mid-size to large organization
  • Events Production/ Entertainment experience will be an added advantage
