Manager - Taxation PURPOSE
Assist in preparing financial and income tax statements. Conduct research, study and interpret direct and indirect tax laws. Prepare tax returns, support in accounting of tax areas, ensure necessary paperwork related to direct taxes. Identify & overcome direct tax credit shortfalls and analyze tax issues. Assess and research difficult tax issues to identify solutions and maintain companys tax database.
Principal Accountabilities
Income Tax Filing
- Prepare Income tax computation, Deferred tax working, Tax depreciation and prepare income tax returns.
- Identify tax refunds and analyze tax issues.
- Lead tax return filing for the group entities along with related analysis and support.
- Lead annual transfer pricing & tax audit for all the group entities.
- Ensure compliance for tax withholding on domestic or foreign payments.
- Drive refunds/ tax due realization pertaining to tax.
- Ensure accurate calculation and reporting of tax numbers in statutory/ regulatory financial statements/ Management reports.
- Design Process notes on Tax projects.
- Lead team on adhoc tax assignments by analyzing the Timely reply to notices, intimations & orders issued by the department.
- Make a track of submissions/grounds made for each assessment or filings made along with their supporting documents.
- Appear before tax authorities as and when required with proper records and documents.
- Co-ordinate with tax consultants on matter related to taxes.
- Coordination among teams & third party
- Provide support to the company with their tax related requests.
- Collaborate with the consumer team and Account Payable team for providing the data requirements related to Returns.
- Plan and align the calendar with the manager for timely filing of returns and responses to the notices issued by departments.
- Co-ordinate with teams for collating documents required to be filed with departments.
Tax Research
- Perform Research tax laws and regulations.
- Update knowledge on a regular basis for evolving provisions of Direct & Indirect Taxes and new returns/processes/changes, etc.
Educational Qualifications
- Qualifications
- Minimum Qualification required: CA
- Qualifications preferred: CA
- Work Experience
- Minimum 5-9 years of experience as a Tax Accountant or similar role.
- Knowledge of accounting & book-keeping.
- Well versed with Direct & Indirect tax compliances
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
- Preferred experience of team handling
- Proficiency in MS Office and thorough knowledge on accounting & tax software
