Position: IT Specialist (Server Management Team)

Location: Hyderabad

Shift: Night (PST)

This position will be a WFO role and you will be working closely with the team in the United States through video chat, instant messaging, e-mail, phone, and through our software. It is important that you have excellent communication skills in English, both written and oral. Job Description & Responsibilities Checklist Daily Responsibilities

1. Server Health Monitoring

2. Check all client servers to ensure they are running properly.

3. Review uptime, CPU, RAM, disk usage, and general server performance metrics.
4. Investigate and address any anomalies, system errors, or failed services.

5. Confirm all services (DNS, DHCP, AD, file services, etc.) are operational.

6. Backup Verification

7. Verify daily backups for all servers using:

8. Veeam Backup & Replication

9. Backblaze Backup

10. Log backup success/failure status.

11. Immediately flag and initiate remediation steps for any failed or missed backups.

12. VIP Workstation Backups

13. Maintain a documented list of VIP or high-priority users/devices that require separate backup schedules.

14. Ensure these devices are backed up successfully daily.

15. Document number of devices, backup type, frequency, and last backup date.

16. KB (Knowledge Base) Verification

17. Ensure Knowledge Base (KB) articles for:

18. Basic server troubleshooting (for T3 techs during server team absence)

19. Backup restoration steps

20. Understanding how server backups work

21. Confirm articles are accessible, up to date, and clear.

22. Report missing or outdated documentation.

23. Resource Auditing

24. Audit server resources:

25. Storage

26. RAM

27. CPU usage

28. Identify under/over-utilized servers and recommend scaling or optimization.

29. Backup License Audit

30. Audit backup software licenses:

31. Ensure Veeam and Backblaze licenses are valid, sufficient, and not nearing expiry.

32. Report any renewals or additional license needs in advance.

33. VIP Backup Review

34. Review and update the list of VIPs needing extra backups.

35. Validate backup frequency and retention policies are still appropriate.

36. Confirm devices on the list are active and relevant.

37. Scheduled Maintenance

38. Create and manage monthly scheduled tickets for:

39. Server OS updates/patching

40. Hardware health checks
41. Backup restoration test

42. Disk cleanup/log rotation tasks

43. Ensure all maintenance is logged and tickets are marked completed.

44. Documentation Maintenance

45. Review and update:

46. Server configurations and architecture documentation

47. Backup strategies and data retention policies

48. Disaster recovery procedures

49. Validate and revise KB articles as needed.

50. Restore Testing

51. Perform test restores from Veeam and Backblaze on a sample of servers to ensure backup integrity.

52. Document and report results.

53. Assist T3 and other technical staff with complex server issues.

54. Respond to server-related alerts or escalations.
55. Conduct internal audits of backup and recovery readiness.
56. Provide guidance or updates on best practices for server management and backup strategy.
57. Participate in disaster recovery drills or incident response plans.
