Position Title: Assistant Manager- Housekeeping for Shopping Mall
Department: Housekeeping
Reports To: Housekeeping Manager.
Job Summary
The Assistant Housekeeper supports the Housekeeping Manager in supervising and coordinating housekeeping operations across the shopping mall. The role ensures that all public areas, restrooms, food courts, service corridors, and exterior premises are maintained in a clean, safe, and hygienic condition for shoppers, tenants, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities-
Operations & Supervision
Oversee daily cleaning operations in mall common areas, including restrooms, corridors, lifts, escalators, entrances, food courts, and parking zones.
Supervise housekeeping staff, assign duties, and monitor performance.
Ensure timely waste collection, segregation, and disposal in compliance with mall/environmental standards.
Inspect cleaning activities to maintain high standards of hygiene and presentation.
Staff & Training -
Assist in scheduling shifts and maintaining adequate staffing levels.
Train and guide staff on cleaning procedures, equipment usage, safety, and customer service.
Motivate team members and maintain discipline among staff.
Quality & Standards -
Ensure adherence to mall hygiene, safety, and security standards.
Check restrooms and high-traffic areas frequently to ensure availability of consumables (tissue, soap, sanitizers, etc.).
Report maintenance issues (lighting, escalators, plumbing, etc.) to the engineering/facility team for prompt action.
Administration -
Maintain records of staff attendance, duty rosters, cleaning checklists, and inventory of cleaning materials.
Assist the Housekeeping Manager in requisitioning cleaning supplies and equipment.
Handle customer/tenant complaints related to housekeeping and resolve them effectively.
Skills & Qualifications
Minimum 2–4 years of housekeeping experience (mall, hotel, hospital, or large facility).
Prior supervisory/assistant role experience preferred.
Knowledge of cleaning equipment, chemicals, and waste management.
Strong communication, leadership, and team management skills.
Ability to work in shifts, weekends, and during special mall events.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹30, ₹35,000.00 per month
