Role & responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end procurement and sourcing activities using SAP MM module.
  • Create and process purchase requisitions (PRs) and purchase orders (POs) in SAP.
  • Coordinate with vendors and internal departments for timely material procurement and order fulfillment.
  • Maintain and update vendor master data, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Analyze quotations and negotiate with suppliers for cost reduction and favorable terms.
  • Monitor inventory levels and ensure uninterrupted supply of materials to meet production and project needs.
  • Generate and analyze procurement reports using MS Excel and SAP for management review.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies, quality standards, and audit requirements.
  • Collaborate with the finance and logistics teams for invoice verification, GRN posting, and payment processing.
  • Continuously evaluate supplier performance and support vendor development initiatives.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Education: B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering (or related field)
  • Experience: 25 years of hands-on experience in Procurement, Sourcing, or Supply Chain Management

  • Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in SAP MM (Materials Management) module – mandatory

  • Strong working knowledge of MS Excel and MS Office tools

  • Domain Knowledge:

  • Good understanding of procurement processes, material management, and vendor coordination

  • Experience in vendor negotiation, purchase order creation, and inventory management

  • Soft Skills:

  • Excellent communication and coordination skills

  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability
  • Negotiation skills and attention to detail
  • Team player with a proactive and result-oriented approach
