About the Opportunity
A clinical role in the healthcare sector delivering tertiary acute and critical care services to adult medical and surgical patients. The team runs a high-dependency, on-site ICU in Kadi, Gujarat, focused on evidence-based, protocol-driven critical care and rapid escalation for high-acuity cases. We are hiring an experienced ICU Intensivist (IDCCM) to lead bedside management, procedural care, and multidisciplinary coordination.

Standardized Title: ICU Intensivist (IDCCM) — On-site, Kadi, Gujarat

Role & Responsibilities

  • Provide direct, high-quality critical care to adult ICU patients: initial assessment, stabilization, ventilator management, and ongoing organ support.
  • Perform and supervise ICU procedures including endotracheal intubation, central venous and arterial line placement, and ultrasound-guided interventions.
  • Lead daily multidisciplinary rounds; implement and audit sepsis bundles, sedation and analgesia protocols, and antimicrobial stewardship.
  • Manage invasive hemodynamic monitoring, guide vasoactive therapy, and coordinate renal replacement therapy initiation with nephrology teams.
  • Train and mentor resident doctors and nursing staff on critical-care protocols, POCUS use, and emergency response workflows.
  • Ensure accurate clinical documentation, participate in morbidity & mortality reviews, and drive continuous quality improvement and compliance with ICU policies.

Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have

  • IDCCM (Indian Diploma in Critical Care Medicine) or equivalent recognised critical care qualification.
  • MBBS with MD/DNB (Anaesthesia, Internal Medicine, or Critical Care) or equivalent clinical training.
  • Minimum relevant ICU experience managing ventilated and hemodynamically unstable adult patients in a tertiary-care setting.
  • Proven competence in ventilator management, invasive monitoring, and bedside procedures (CVC, arterial line, intubation).
  • Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and demonstrated experience in sepsis management protocols.
  • Proficiency with Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) for critical-care assessments.

Preferred

  • Experience with ARDS management and extracorporeal support escalation pathways.
  • Previous leadership role in ICU unit management, quality metrics, or training programs.
  • Familiarity with ICU information systems and electronic critical-care documentation.
