Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and responsible Staff Nurse – Shift Incharge to supervise and coordinate nursing staff during assigned shifts in a hospital/clinical setting in Vijayawada. The role requires strong leadership, clinical expertise, and the ability to ensure high standards of patient care and safety throughout the shift.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and guide bedside nurses and nursing assistants during the shift.
- Allocate duties and ensure adequate staffing for all patient care units.
- Monitor patient conditions and ensure timely reporting and documentation.
- Provide direct nursing care in critical or complex cases when required.
- Ensure proper administration of medications, treatments, and procedures.
- Maintain and check medical equipment, supplies, and inventory for the shift.
- Enforce infection control measures and hospital safety protocols.
- Act as the point of contact between doctors, patients, and families during the shift.
- Handle emergencies, resolve conflicts, and escalate issues when necessary.
- Prepare and submit shift reports to the Nursing Superintendent/Unit Head.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: GNM / B.Sc. Nursing / M.Sc. Nursing from a recognized institution.
- Registration: Valid Nursing Council registration (Andhra Pradesh Nursing Council preferred).
- Experience: Minimum 2–5 years of clinical/nursing experience, with prior supervisory or in-charge experience preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to manage staff, patients, and emergencies effectively.
- Willingness to work in rotational shifts.
