Job Description – Quality Lead (Fixture Manufacturing)Position Overview:

The Quality Lead will be responsible for ensuring that all fixture manufacturing processes and outputs meet defined quality standards and customer requirements. The role involves managing inspection activities, implementing quality systems, and driving continuous improvement across machining operations (VMC, Surface Grinding, Wirecut, Milling & Rolling). The Quality Lead will collaborate closely with production, design, and customers to ensure defect-free, precise, and reliable fixture delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Quality Assurance & Quality Control (QA/QC) functions in fixture manufacturing.
  • Develop and implement quality inspection plans for VMC, Surface Grinding, Wirecut, Milling, and Rolling operations.
  • Ensure adherence to dimensional accuracy, tolerances, and finish requirements.
  • Supervise incoming, in-process, and final inspection activities.
  • Maintain and monitor calibration of gauges, measuring instruments, and CMM machines.
  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for rejections and implement corrective & preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Prepare and maintain quality documents – Inspection Reports, PPAP, Control Plans, and NCRs.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 / customer-specific quality standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, 5S, Kaizen, Poka-Yoke) to enhance product quality.
  • Act as the primary contact for customer audits, complaints, and quality approvals.
  • Train and guide quality inspectors and operators on inspection techniques and quality standards.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Diploma / Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering.
  • 15+ years of experience in quality assurance for fixture manufacturing / precision machining.
  • Strong knowledge of machining processes: VMC, Surface Grinding, Wirecut, Milling & Rolling.
  • Expertise in GD&T, precision measurement, and inspection methods.
  • Hands-on experience with CMM, Vernier, Micrometer, Height Gauge, and other metrology tools.
  • Familiarity with APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills for customer and cross-functional interaction.
