SCM Lead

Job Description – SCM Lead (Fixture Manufacturing)Position Overview:

The SCM Lead will be responsible for overseeing and managing the end-to-end supply chain operations for fixture manufacturing, including procurement, vendor management, inventory control, logistics, and customer delivery. The role ensures uninterrupted availability of materials, cost optimization, on-time delivery, and alignment of supply chain activities with production, engineering, and quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities:1. Procurement & Vendor Management

• Identify, qualify, and develop suppliers for raw materials, machining tools, standard parts, and outsourced processes (heat treatment, plating, coating, etc.).
• Negotiate contracts, lead-time agreements, and cost control initiatives with suppliers.
• Monitor vendor performance (QCD – Quality, Cost, Delivery) and drive improvement plans.

2. Material Planning & Inventory Control

• Develop Material Requirement Plans (MRP) aligned with production schedules.
• Ensure timely availability of raw materials, consumables, and bought-out parts.
• Maintain optimal inventory levels while reducing excess stock and shortages.
• Implement FIFO, Kanban, or other lean inventory practices.

3. Logistics & Delivery

• Manage inbound and outbound logistics to ensure on-time delivery of fixtures.
• Coordinate with transporters, warehouses, and customers for smooth dispatch.
• Optimize freight cost, packaging, and customs compliance (if exports involved).

4. Cross-functional Coordination

• Collaborate with Engineering Lead for new part development requirements.
• Align with Production Lead on material availability and schedule adherence.
• Work with Quality Lead to ensure supplier quality standards.
• Provide SCM status reports to management and customers.

5. Continuous Improvement

• Implement cost-saving initiatives through supplier development and localization.
• Digitize and streamline supply chain operations (ERP/MRP systems).
• Drive lean supply chain practices, waste reduction, and efficiency improvements.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical / Industrial / Supply Chain Management (MBA preferred).
• 15+ years of experience in SCM for fixture manufacturing / precision machining industry.
• Strong knowledge of procurement, vendor development, and logistics management.
• Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Good understanding of machining processes (VMC, Grinding, Wirecut, Milling, Rolling) and fixture manufacturing requirements.
• Strong leadership and cross-functional coordination ability.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹502, ₹1,190,271.43 per year
